After you’ve dealt with the Vernworth questlines in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and attempted to attend the coronation in the final Vernworth quest, “Feast of Deception,”you next have to venture into Battahl. Unfortunately, there is one thing that stands between you and Battahl - the desert country, that borders Vermund - and that’s a big ass fortress gate.
Located at the southern end of the Checkpoint Rest Town lies the Battahl fortress, which in order to get across, you’re going to need the correct papers to get through the gate.
Fortunately for us, when leaving Vernworth for the last time, Captain Brant gave us the Border Entry Permit, which gets us through the gate, but unfortunately, that permit is only for Beastrens… so, how do you get through the Battahl fortress gate and into Battahl… you know, considering you might be a human. If you’re an actual Battahl, I have no idea if the game switches it up for you. But as we were a human trying to get through, we needed a solution.
While in essence it might seem like an incredibly difficult problem to solve, it’s actually not… especially when you know how.
Like most of the more perplexing problems in Dragon’s Dogma 2, when you know the solution, it’s a piece of cake, but stumbling on the solution organically can sometimes be a little tricky.
In order to get through the Checkpoint Rest Town border gate, you’ll need to head to Ibrahim’s Scrap Store in western Checkpoint Rest Town. There, you can purchase a Beastren Mask for 8,700 gold, which when combined with the Border Entry Permit, will grant us access to the southern desert region of Battahl.
The thing with Ibrahim’s Scrap Store is, you don’t actually need to go there, and thus, might actually miss this key item.
So, there you have it. That’s how you get access to the new desert region in Dragon’s Dogma 2. In short: finish the Vernworth questline, and get yourself a furry mask.
