Dragon’s Dogma 2 - Where to Find Fruit Wine and Newt Liqueur to unlock the Warfarer Vocation

Dan Webb

In order to unlock the Warfarer class from Lamond in the Volcanic Island Camp in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’re going to need to get your hands on some Newt Liqueur. 3, to be precise.

While the seemingly obvious way to get New Liqueur is to craft it, using Fruit Wine and Saurian Tail, it’s actually incredibly hard to get your hands on Fruit Wine, so that’s not an option in our eyes. From our experiences throughout Battahl and Vermund, we found no one selling Fruit Wine - and you can’t craft Fruit Wine either. So, what to do?

Well, firstly, you can receive Fruit Wine as a gift from characters who you max out their affinity with - provided you have Dragon’s Dogma 2’s house. Gifts from friends will be hanging outside your front door when you’ve reached maximum affinity with them. For instance, Captain Brant will give you a Fruit Wine when you reach maximum affinity with him - which you’ll get naturally for doing the Vernsworth main quests. Provided you have a dwelling, of course.

The easiest way, however, to get 3 Newt Liqueurs for “The Sotted Sage” side quest, and to get the Warfarer vocation, is to head to Higg’s Tavern Stand, which can be found at the northeast of Bakbattahl, at the top of the Residential Ward.

Now, the guy inside, Fyodor, doesn’t sell anything. However, if you put on the Beastren Mask, and move the pile of sacks outside the front door (to the left) and carry them into the pen nearby (using the Grab button to pick them up), a Beastren, Karnel, will shout, “You there! What are you doing? Hmph. Escort this “guest” of ours inside.”

You’ll then be transported upstairs, where Ezekiel will sell you Newt Liqueur for 5,000 gold a bottle. And guess what? He has 3 to sell as well! How convenient!

Buy all 3, take them back to Lamond for The Sotted Sage side quest, and the Warfarer class is all yours.
