If you’re searching every nook and cranny in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you may come across an item as early as Harve Village that you may wonder what it’s used for. That item being Wyrmslife Crystals.
These red crystals are described as the “crystallized blood of a draconic creature,” with the game noting that they’re used in “high-order enhancement.” The truth is, they’re a lot more important than that.
For the most part, Wyrmslife Crystals are used in crafting when you reach the far eastern shores of Battahl, specifically when you reach a mysterious individual called The Dragonforged, who can be found in the Bay Wayside Shrine to the northeast of Bakbattahl (after crossing across the coastal path to the north).
The Dragonforged can not only use your Wyrmslife Crystals to upgrade your equipment (weapons and armour) to their maximum fourth level, but they can also be swapped for powerful items. You’ll also need 15 Wyrmslife Crystals for the main quest, “A New Godsway.”
Firstly, for between 5 and 15 Wyrmslife Crystals, you can upgrade your equipment to their maximum level; and secondly, they can be used to buy the following items:
Ferrystone for 3 Wyrmslife Crystals
Portcrystal for 20 Wyrmslife Crystals
Unmaking Arrow for 8 Wyrmslife Crystals (this arrow instantly kills anything it hits)
So, in order to get the most out of your equipment, and also some valuable items too, you’re going to need a ton of Wyrmslife Crystals. Here’s where you can find a supply in the open-world:
Wyrmslife Crystal x 1 - On the top floor of the Old Lighthouse in Harve Village
Wyrmslife Crystal x 5 - In the Bay Wayside Shrine to the northeast of Battahl (on the northern side of the path across the bay).
Wyrmslife Crystals x 3 - In the left-hand offshoot in the Cliffside Cave (near where the Chimera is), which is northeast of Bakbattahl. There’s 3 in the middle of the floor there.
Wyrmslife Crystal - On the 2F of Dragonsbreath Tower, at the end of a dead end corridor.
Wyrmslife Crystal - On the 4F of Dragonsbreath Tower, near the steps to the east.
But more importantly, different types of dragons drop different amounts of Wyrmslife Crystals. So, a lesser dragon drops 10 Wyrmslife Crystals (like the lesser dragon at the top of the Dragonsbreath Tower); while a drake drops 15 Wyrmslife Crystals.
For an easy 15 Wyrmslife Crystals, head to the Ancient Battleground (north of Checkpoint Rest Town) and use the ballistas on the fortress to kill the dragon that’s fighting the cyclops in the large open field to the south. Two hits from the ballista is enough to take down the drake, and as a result, you’ll get enough Wyrmslife Crystals to make some serious improvements to your gear and/or your arsenal.
