Tate Multimedia has announced that developer Trialforge Studio's Deathbound, its party-based soulslike RPG, will be launching in August.
Whisking you away to an unforgiving dark fantasy world of Zieminal, where Faith and Science are at odds, Deathbound will see you cleaving a path through an array of abominable creatures and fearsome warriors, while binding with fallen players.
You'll find vanquished warriors through the world, known collectively as Zieminal's dead, and you'll be able to dynamically switch between each character during combat, using Deathbound's unique four-hero soulslike party system.
Every character has its own skill set and combat style to take advantage of, while shared beliefs between warriors will create synergies that result in helpful buffs and the potential to unleash a deadly ‘Morphstrike’.
Deathbound will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on 8th August, pitting you against bosses based upon the five stages of grief, in a world heading towards oblivion. Sounds cheerful. Check out the new trailer below.
You play as a team of 4 characters all within one body [switching between at your command,] they each have their own health bars which recover [can't remember if over time, or by doing damage] but if one dies all die, pushing you to keep switching on the fly.
I saw gameplay a while back [might have been ironpinapple] and they critiqued that the transformation was a bit slow so the combo's didn't feel great, but this trailer makes it look like that may have been addressed.
