Microsoft has announced that the price of an Xbox Game Pass subscription is set to increase from today for new members, while Game Pass for Console will no longer be available for new members. Anyone who has already subscribed and has automatic payment renewal enabled will be able to continue their membership as-is.
Meanwhile, a new Game Pass tier called ‘Xbox Game Pass Standard’ will be available “in the coming months”, and the price of recurring charges for a subscription will increase from 12th September, with select countries excluded from the price hike. “These changes will enable us to bring members more value and more great games to Game Pass,” reads the announcement on the Xbox Support site.
Xbox Game Pass Standard will offer a library of games for $14.99 a month, but no access to day one releases like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will cost $19.99 a month, and still offer all the same benefits as before, including day one game releases.
