Deathbound, a single-player ‘party-based’ soulslike, will be coming to consoles later this year, publisher Tate Multimedia and developer Trialforge Studio have announced.
Whisking you away to the hostile dark fantasy world of Ziêminal, in which Faith and Science are at war, Deathbound sees you embarking upon an unholy crusade, summoning fallen warriors to your side, which you can bind with and take control of mid-combat as part of a “one-of-a-kind 4-hero soulslike party system”.
Each fallen you call to your aid has their own unique skill sets, combat styles, and history, all shared within a single vessel. Relationships between these characters can also impact gameplay, as you balance opposing beliefs between the Church of Death and Cult of Life within the vessel. Strong synergies and shared beliefs can result in combat buffs, for instance.
A sync meter will be shared across all fallen, which can be dispelled to unleash a powerful ‘Morphstrike’ that combines the full might of your party. Handy when the legions of challenging enemies push you and your party to the limit. You can find out more in the trailer below.
Deathbound is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC later this year.
