Upon your arrival in the Checkpoint Rest Town in western Vermund, in Dragon’s Dogma 2, Morris, the owner and proprietor of Morris’s Apothecary, will ask for your assistance.
Seemingly, his grandson, Rodge, has gone missing after being abducted by a pack of wolves and Morris has asked for your assistance to go and retrieve him. Yes, folks, it’s time to get deep into the “Prey for the Pack” side quest, a side quest that can actually be pretty baffling to reach its conclusion. Time is of the essence here as well, as this one is a timed side quest!
First things, perhaps one of the trickier aspects of the side quest: gathering information. You’ll need to speak to four individuals before you venture off into the wilderness on this one. You’ll need to find the following (at the following locations):
Timothy (near the entrance to the Checkpoint Rest Town)
Xavier (guarding the bridge into town)
Alsa (by the well near Timothy)
Jacint (near Ibrahim's Scrap Store)
Once you’ve found all four people, you’ll have to venture east along the path back towards Vernworth (the southern of the two paths), until you hit the large open area near the Riftstone of the Fanged. Before you do though, it’s worth mentioning it’s best to do this quest at night.
The reason we suggest that is for two reasons:
Firstly, the night means the Wight spawns - a rare boss that drops not just the Craos Tine archistaff, but a super rare crafting item too, the Black Crystal.
And secondly, it makes it easier to track the blue flowers (they glow at night), which will lead you to your destination.
So, yes, as we said, once you get out into the open, you’ll have to follow the blue glowing flowers. Now, this is where it gets confusing, as there are two types. There are the super bright glowing ones, these are just resources to pick up; and the duller ones, which are the flowers you need to follow.
These blue flowers will lead you to the Putrid Cave (just to the east of the small body of water to the east of the Checkpoint Rest Town). Once here, head inside, kill all the beasties, and then speak to Rodge, and make sure he gets home safely.
The best thing about this side quest is not the 2x Miracle Oberant and 11,000 gold you get for completing it, but for the 5% discount you’ll get in Morris’ shop - meaning Ferrystones will only cost 9,500 gold, instead of 10,000 gold.

Every little bit counts!
