Ratalaika Games has announced that Aero the Acro-Bat, one of the many mascot-type characters created in the wake of Sonic's success, like Bubsy the Bobcat and Zool, will be making a comeback this August.

Originally released for the SNES and SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis in 1993, Aero the Acro-Bat will be coming to modern platforms with various quality-of-life updates, including save states, a rewind/turbo function, and a selection of cheats, like invulnerability, infinite energy, infinite lives, and so on.

In Aero the Acro-Bat, you play as the titular winged rodent and star circus performer, on a mission to rescue his friends and girlfriend Ariel from the clutches of evil industrialist Edgar Ektor. With Ektor planning to destroy “the world of amusement” as revenge for being banished from the circus, you'll need to take down his ‘mad clowns’ and save the kidnapped circus staff across 20 stages.

Aero the Acro-Bat will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on 2nd August, offering both the English and Japanese versions, a variety of screen filters, and a gallery featuring illustrations, posters, box art, and more from the original '90s release.
