Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - Guide For Winning Every Holotactics Game

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - Guide For Winning Every Holotactics Game

Matt Lorrigan

Holotactics is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s game-within-a-game, kinda like Gwent in The Witcher 3, that allows you to pit loads of different enemy types against another player’s foes in order to see who wins. I mean, the developer has already had to program in enemies fighting each other thanks to the Force Confusion ability, so why not turn it into a little mini-game at the Cantina while they’re at it?

However, it should be stated that Holotactics isn’t available from the off in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Instead, you’ll need to find the NPCs who run the game out in the wilds of Koboh, and recruit them to Pyloon's Saloon.

How to recruit Bhima and Tulli and unlock Holotactics

You’ll find NPCs Bhima and Tulli near the meditation point at Boiling Bluff on Koboh. The two of them are being terrorised by a Mogu, and you’ll have to fight it off before you can speak to them. Doing so will see them join Pyloon’s Saloon in a little room on the second floor, where they will host Holotactics games for you to play in.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Holotactics Strategies

These are the Holotactics strategies that saw us through to win each and every battle, but it's worth pointing out that even the best laid plans in Holotactics won't always work out, due to the random nature of the enemy AI. So bear that in mind, in case on of these strats doesn't work out quite as well for you as it did for us! Don't worry too much though, you can always try again.

Turgle Holotactics Strategy

As your introduction into Holotactics, Turgle proves a pretty easy opponent, but if you are struggling, here’s our choice of winning tactics.

Wave 1

Front Line - B2 Battle Droid x 1

Wave 2

Front Line - Electrostaff Purge Trooper x 2
Back Line - Stormtrooper x 2

Greez Holotactics Strategy

Everyone's favourite four-armed fella is definitely a step up in difficulty from the slippery Turgle, but it's not a tough fight. Play the units listed below to secure victory.

Tulakt Holotactics Strategy

Tulakt proves to be the first real test of your strategy credentials in Holotactics, but a well placed Droideka on the back line is a solid strategy in each wave to shut her down.

Wave 1

Front Line - Stormtrooper Commander x 1
Back Line - Droideka x 1

Wave 2

Front Line - Stormtrooper Commander x 1
Back Line - Droideka x 1

Wave 3

Merrin Holotactics Strategy

She might be your friend throughout Jedi Survivor, but she's a fearsome foe in Holotactics. Now we're hitting the fights where trial and error end up playing a big part in the result, but luckily, we've already put together a guide for you to follow.

Wave 1

Front Line - Sutaban Alpha x 1
Back Line - Stormtrooper Commander x 2

Wave 2

Front Line - Sutaban Alpha x 1
Back Line - Purge Trooper Commander x 1, Flametrooper x 1

Wave 3

Caij Holotactics Strategy

This bounty hunter-hunter is a tough match up, and her powerful ranged units require a clever mix of melee and range in order to take on successfully, but we've found that overwhelming her with numbers tends to be the smart move.

Wave 1

Front Line - B1 Droid Melee x 3
Back Line - Stormtrooper Commander x 5

Wave 2

Front Line - Roller Mine x 1
Back Line - Stormtrooper Commander x 3

Wave 3

Skoova Holotactics Strategy

As you may have been able to tell from his (several) stories, Skoova is a tough son-of-a-gun, and this applies to Holotactics as well. He hides his more powerful ranged units behind Shield Troopers and melee walls, so our strategy here is to use Flametroopers and our own spongy units to close them down.

Wave 1

Front Line - Flametrooper x 2
Back Line - B2 Droid x 1

Wave 2

Front Line - Stormtrooper Commander x 2, Scout Trooper Commander x 1

Back Line - Rocket Trooper x 2, Droideka x 1

T-1N8 Holotactics Strategy

This droid has an interest in the natural world, and as such, mostly utilises powerful monsters. These are a little harder to predict than the human and droid combatants, but if you can make it through the first few waves with points to spare, the later waves become a walk in the park.

Wave 1

Front Line - Roller Mine x 2
Back Line - Stormtrooper x 1

Wave 2

Front Line - Skriton x 1

Wave 3

Front Line - Skriton x 1
Back Line - Heavy Assault Trooper x 2

Wave 4

Front Line - Skriton x 1
Back Line - Purge Trooper Commander x 1, Stormtrooper x 2

Tully Holotactics Strategy

Once you've defeated every previous opponent at least once, you'll unlock Tully as the final Holotactics fight. She's the toughest opponenet you'll have faced so far, but by smartly saving up points in the early stages, you can bulldoze through the final waves.

Wave 1

Front Line - Flametrooper x 3
Back Line - B2 Battle Droid x 1

Wave 2

Front Line - Magnaguard x 2, Stormtrooper Commander x 3
Back Line - Droideka x 1
