The Hard Way Achievement in The Talos Principle II

Note: Despite there being many reports of the following two puzzle-specific achievements being missable (i.e. if you don't do them on your first solve of the puzzle, the achievement won't unlock after resetting the puzzle and trying again), I can personally vouch that that isn't the case with this achievement. I missed it on my first completion of the puzzle, then I reset the puzzle with the Prometheus terminal at its entrance, and got this achievement on my second run of the puzzle.

This achievement requires you to complete Switcheroo, which is main puzzle 8 in S1 - Southern Coast, without using  to "keep connections" when you pick up a connector. However, my experience was that I couldn't even use  to pick up the connector, even when it had no connections made. I could use  to pick up and place the teleporter and any other objects, but for the connector, you can only use  to pick it up and put it down, even if it isn't connected to anything.

The majority of this puzzle will proceed like normal, with the only difference being right at the end where you need to connect the connector to the red receiver and still be up on top. It would be tough to explain in text how to manage this, so refer to the video below for guidance.
