Introduction:

"War is coming whether you're ready for it or not soldier! In Attack of the Toy Tanks, across the game's 60 levels in the main campaign, players must take control of the provided vehicle of war and battle it out across different arenas and be the last tank standing. Just in case the A.I.-controlled threat doesn't offer up enough of a challenge, you can always check out the multiplayer mode and go head to head against a friend. Must warn you though, it's not just the heavy artillery you will need to avoid as there is also a range of devastating obstacles that can KO' you upon impact." - from xbox.com

Note: Playing the multiplayer mode is not necessary for any achievements.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

Attack of the Toy Tanks is very reminiscent of the old Atari 2600 game, Combat. You battle up to four tanks per level and traverse around obstacles to destroy them before they destroy you.

The games' 12 achievements are very straightforward. The first six are for destroying up to 70 tanks. The next three are for completing 10, 20 and 30 levels (out of 60). There is one for dying and the remaining two are for achieving silver and gold ranking.

It might take a few levels to get used to the controls. There are two control schemes to choose from:

• Scheme A: is move, is aim and or is shoot
  
• Scheme B: rotates the tank, moves forward, or moves back, is aim and or is shoot
  

On each level, drive yourself around the obstacles to get a bead on an enemy tank then unleash a fury of firepower to destroy it, but pay attention to the positions of the other tanks so they don't destroy you first. Be strategic and use the obstacles as cover when they are shooting at you. Once you destroy all the tanks in the level you advance to the next.

Conclusion:

All in all, Attack of the Toy Tanks is your basic Ratalaika game. Each achievement is progression related so you should unlock the full 1000:1gs: in about a half hour, give or take, depending on your skill.

Destroy your first tank in battle.

This will unlock through natural progression as in order to complete levels, you must destroy tanks. Destroy any of the four tanks on the first level and this will unlock.

This will unlock through natural progression on your way to completing 30 levels, although this should unlock before you have completed 20 levels. Even if you die, the tanks you’ve destroyed still count toward this total.

Complete 30 levels.

Each level has between one and four enemy tanks. Destroying all of them in a level advances you to the next. Some tanks are more aggressive than others so be sure to utilize cover whenever possible. There are also obstacles that can destroy you (such as lasers and spikes) so be careful while moving around.

There are 60 levels in the game and are unlocked from the start, so while you do not have to complete 30 levels in sequence, it is recommended as the later levels can be more difficult than the earlier ones. If you find that you are having issues with a particular level, just press and quit to the main menu and select another one.

Get silver ranking on any level.

Get gold ranking on any level.

Rankings are determined by how quickly the level is completed. You can earn one of three; bronze, silver and gold. You will most likely get gold naturally by completing the first level, if not the first few, but as you progress through the 30 levels needed for "Big Tank", you should earn all three rankings many times each.

Note: Rankings do not stack, meaning you have to get silver and gold individually.

Be destroyed by an enemy tank. This can be done as early as the second level (they do not fire upon you on the first level).
