Introduction:
Welcome to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, the original two games in the famous series, remastered and improved but still with all their original glory. The games see the return of the original skaters in them, plus many new popular skaters. Manuals and reverts have also been added to the first game, allowing for huge combos just like in the later games. While the simplicity of both games has been retained, there is still quite a bit to do in both games if you're after the completion. Just be aware that 970gs.png can be obtained in under 20 hours, and that last 30gs.png will take another 8 hours of pure grinding (literally and figuratively). So if you want the completion, be warned. Let's get started.

Tours Mode:
Your first order of business upon starting the game should be to play through Tours mode (career mode). Pick a skater of your choice or create a skater (it doesn't matter which you do, because you'll have to use a pro skater and a created skater eventually anyway). Stick with that skater and progress through all of THPS1 and THPS2. As you progress, complete every goal in every level, obtain a gold medal on every competition, and collect all stat points for that skater. The guide below has more information on each of these tasks.

Once you complete all of the above in Tours mode, it should be at 100% complete for both games. You'll unlock a bunch of cheats (game mods) that will be helpful in the future. Now is a good time to enable them and replay levels to collect all alien plushies. Refer to The Truth is In Here (30G) for where to find them all.

Challenges
With the career mode completed, now is a good time to work on challenges. Specifically, mop up whatever Rookie challenges you have left (refer to Rookie of the Year (15G)), and then work on the Veteran (refer to Going to the Vet (30G)) and Legendary (refer to Legen-Dairy (80G)) challenges. The Rookie challenges should be really easy after completing the career mode. The Veteran challenges aren't difficult either, and are mainly a bit grindy and involve a lot of created parks and skaters. The Legendary ones will require a bit more work. Just remember that, unless a challenge explicitly says "Game Mods must be disabled," you can turn on all game mods (such as perfect balance and no bailing) to make them incredibly easy. The guide has easy ways to complete most challenges.

Completing all Legendary challenges will require you to complete all challenges with a created skater and to complete all challenges with three pro skaters. This is why I mentioned above that it doesn't matter which you choose to use for Tours mode.

This step will take a bit of time, but it'll get you a ton of XP and money in completing all of these challenges.

Gap Collections
With quite a bit of the game done at this point, the next thing I recommend completing are all of the gap collections. These are made far easier by the fact that game mods can be used for all gap collections. So turn them all on and work on landing every gap in every level. The Gap Master (80G) achievement solution has a bunch more information for this task. This will be a pretty decent chunk of play time, and only a few gaps have challenging timing and positioning.

Hard Get-Theres
Now it's time for, by far, the hardest part of this completion: the hard Get-Theres. These poorly-named challenges don't allow game mods, so you'll need to turn them all off. They require you to string together specific gaps in a single combo. Each level has a single one of these to complete. They typically require amazing manual or grinding balance, and will really test your patience. Thankfully there are some easy ones peppered amongst the incredibly frustrating ones. The Got There (80G) achievement solution has far more information. This is the hardest part of this completion, so if you can manage it, the rest will feel easy in comparison.

Multiplayer:
If you haven't already, now that virtually all single player tasks are completed, you can very quickly and easily unlock all multiplayer achievements. All of them can be done either with a second controller locally or with a boosting friend online. They can all be unlocked in under an hour, especially with a second controller. Refer to the guide for each one, which is marked in red to indicate it is a multiplayer achievement.

Mop-Up:
At this point I recommend mopping up whatever achievements you haven't unlocked aside for reaching level 100. Any miscellaneous ones that you didn't unlock by now, refer to them in the guide below to unlock them now. Most achievements have challenges associated with them, and you'll want all the XP you can get in preparation for the next step.

Grind to Level 100
All that should be left by now is to reach level 100 to unlock your final achievement. You'll likely be somewhere around level 60-70 after doing everything else above. While you may think this means you're over halfway there, think again. It probably took somewhere around 20 hours to get to where you're at, but unfortunately the amount of XP to reach level 100 is insane - level 84 is actually the halfway point in terms of total XP required to get to level 100. And with the vast majority of challenges already complete, there remains no real options remaining to get to level 100. The most efficient way, albeit extremely boring and repetitive, is to grind it out in single sessions. The ONE HUNDRED! (30G) achievement solution contains much more information. This unfortunately is a very repetitive grind. While it's not insanely long (10 hours or less), it still may make or break the completion for some. Good luck.

Conclusion:
This remake/remaster is a surprising gem. The fun factor from the original games is completely retained, as is the soundtrack. It's so easy to pick up and play, isn't bogged down by tons of tasks, but has a surprising amount of things to do for the completion. Unfortunately, reaching level 100 is a decent grind after all the work you need to put in to complete everything else. Even so, I highly recommend taking a trip down memory lane and picking up this great remaster to enjoy these games again.

There are 36 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Unlock School in THPS1 Classic.

Refer to Valhalla (30G) for more information.
  • Earn a Medal on any competition park in Tours.

Refer to Valhalla (30G) for more information.
  • Unlock Roswell in THPS1 Classic.

Refer to Valhalla (30G) for more information.
  • Complete every goal in THPS1 Classic and gain all gold medals.

Refer to Valhalla (30G) for more information.
  • Unlock School II in THPS2 Classic.

Refer to Valhalla (30G) for more information.
  • Earn any 4 Medals on competition parks in Tours.

As the description says, you'll need to earn any medal (bronze, silver, or gold) on four different parks in Tours mode. As you're progressing through THPS1 and then THPS2, this will unlock naturally, since you'll need to get at least a bronze medal on each park to progress to the next level.
  • Unlock Bullring in THPS2 Classic.

Refer to Valhalla (30G) for more information.
  • Complete every goal in THPS2 Classic and gain all gold medals.

Every level in the game (aside from the competitions) has goals that need to be completed in a single run. The easiest way to approach each level is to focus on a couple goals and get them done, then end the run and try others. In general, most goals are very straightforward to complete, especially the scores. Sometimes you may have a hard time finding all of a specific object, such as books or bells or tables, etc. Likewise, the secret tape in some levels might be difficult to find, especially if you never played the original games. For help with any goals in any levels, refer to the video below, courtesy of cakechieveables. Each level has its own video showing all goals being completed.

As for the competitions and earning gold medals, it may take a bit of practice, but here are some general tips that should make it much easier:
    • As soon as you start the game and choose a skater (pro or created), immediately go to their Specials and customize them. What I did was set up all Specials to be dpad-up.png and then either :1y:button-y.png, :1b:button-b.png, or :1x:button-x.png. This eliminates the need to memorize the inputs for each special. In particular, having a special grind and special manual is incredibly useful for getting high scores.
    • As you progress, ensure you're collecting all of the stat points. Priority should be putting them into rail and manual balance, and then ollie, air, and hangtime.
    • The amount of points you get from air tricks is miniscule compared to the amount you can get from a long grind and manual combo. What I preferred to do was lock into a special grind on a bowl or something that loops on itself and doesn't end. Mash :1y:button-y.png, :1b:button-b.png, and button-x.png:1x: to change grinds over and over. Balance as long as you can, then ollie off into a special manual. Repeat the same button mashing as long as you can balance again, then land it. This should net you easily 75,000 to 100,000 points per combo. Doing this twice in a single heat will ensure you get the highest score and a gold medal.
  • Complete a match in multiplayer.

*This achievement requires either two controllers or an online connection*

Simply complete a match either online or locally with a second controller. You'll need to choose Multiplayer from the main menu, and from there choose to either play online or local. Game mode doesn't matter, nor whether you win or lose.
  • Create a skater using the CAS system.

From the main menu, press rb.png:1rb: to go to the Skater tab. From here, press button-y.png:1y: to change your skater. Now go up to one of the Create A Skater boxes and select it. Pick any appearance options, and once the skater is created, this achievement will unlock.
  • Create a new park and upload it.

*This achievement requires an online connection*

From the main menu, choose to create a park. The game will guide you through creating a park with a tutorial the first time you create one. Follow the guidance, placing the bare minimum number of items if you prefer, and when you're done, follow the tips to name it and upload it. When done, this achievement will unlock.
  • Spend $10,000 in the Skate Shop.

As the description says, you'll need to spend a cumulative total of $10,000 in the skate shop. Money is earned by completing goals in Tours mode, earning medals in competitions, and completing challenges. By the time you complete all other achievements, you'll have earned close to $100,000. To put it in perspective, I had earned $10,000 by the time I finished all goals and gold medals in THPS1. As you have money, you can buy anything you want in the skate shop - boards, grip tape, wheels, clothing, etc. - to work towards this achievement. Once you've spent enough, this achievement will unlock.
  • Find all Stat points for any Pro Skater.

This needs to be done with a Pro Skater, not a created skater.

There are a total of 50 stat points to collect across all levels in THPS1 and THPS2, with the exception of Chopper Drop and Skate Heaven, which have no stat points to collect. All other levels have at least 2 and up to 4 stat points. The stat points are orange oval Tony Hawk Pro Skater logos.

In terms of their locations, that depends on the type of skater you're playing as. Each pro skater is classified as either Street, Park, or Vert, and that dictates where that skater's stat points will be located. When selecting a skater, make sure to double check their style from their bio so you know which locations to use. A text guide containing a brief description of the location of each stat point can be found HERE.

Do note that, if you already have unlocked cheats, you can turn them on to make it easier to reach all of the stat points, and there won't be any impact to this achievement.
  • Earn the "Rookie" Challenge Collection.

There are a total of 12 challenges that need to be completed for this achievement. You can check their progress from the main or pause menus by pressing rb.png:1rb: over to the Challenges tab, and then selecting Rookie to view all the Rookie Challenges. The challenges are very simple, and are as follows:
    • Change your badge in your Profile. Go to the Profile tab from the pause menu and select to change your badge.
    • Complete every goal in any Skate Park. This means any level, not just a competition. This will come naturally as you work toward completing all goals in all levels.
    • Edit any stat. Once you've gotten at least one stat point from any level, pause and go to the Skater tab, then rt.png:1rt: to view stats, and use your stat point.
    • Customize your special trick. Go to the Skater tab and press rt.png:1rt: to scroll over to special tricks. Simply customize any trick or its button inputs.
    • Earn a gold medal in any competition. This will come naturally as you work to complete both games. Use the Can't Judge Me (15G) tactic to get a perfect score and get gold in the process.
    • Complete all eight combo challenges:
      • Land a combo with more than 5 tricks. Simply mash button-x.png:1x:, button-y.png:1y: and button-b.png:1b: alternately while grinding or in a manual to do more than 5 tricks.
      • Do 5 reverts. Simply press rt.png:1rt: right as you land on vert, 5 separate times.
      • Land a combo with a lip trick, revert, and manual. Simply do a lip trick, make sure to Ollie out of it, press rt.png:1rt: to revert, and then go into a manual, and land it.
      • Land a grab trick with a revert and a manual. Same as above but with a grab trick instead of a lip trick.
      • Land a combo with only a grab trick and a grind. This must be done off of a vert ramp by doing an ollie out of vert, a grab trick in the air, and then landing a grind. No manual in between. The Chicago Skate Park competition has a good setup to do this.
      • Land a combo with a manual, flip trick, and grind. They don't necessarily need to be done in that order. It's easiest to flip into a grind, then ollie off and land in a manual.
      • Land a combo with a grind, wallplant, and another grind. The first level, Warehouse, has the perfect setup for this. Grind the halfpipe against the far wall from the start, towards the end jumping off to wallplant, and land right back on the grind.
      • Land 5 special tricks. This is cumulative, so just check the button combos for your special tricks and land 5 easy ones (such as grinds).
    • Create a new skater. Refer to Creator (15G) for doing so.
    • Change a created skater's appearance. Once done creating a skater, simply change any part of their appearance.
    • Change a creater skater's clothing. Same as above but for any piece of clothing.
    • Purchase a logo in the skate shop. Logos cost $50 each. Once you've earned enough money, go to the shop and buy any logo.
    • Purchase a board in the skate shop. Same as above. Boards also cost $100 each.
    • Complete all Rookie Challenges. This completes once all above 11 challenges are completed, and unlocks the achievement.
  • Earn the "Veteran" Challenge Collection.

There are a total of 10 challenges that need to be completed for this achievement. You can check their progress from the main or pause menus by pressing :1rb: over to the Challenges tab, and then selecting Veteran to view all the Veteran Challenges. They are as follows:
    • Earn a medal in every competition park. This will come naturally while working on the Grand Tourer (30G) and Valhalla (30G) achievements.
    • Complete all challenges for any pro skater. Game mods can be used for all but two challenges for all pro skaters. Skaters classified as Street have the easiest challenges by far.
    • Unlock 3 Special slots for a created skater. This will come naturally while completing all challenges for a created skater while working toward the Donut Mess with a Cop (30G) achievement.
    • Complete the following two challenges: complete a ranked run on any classic park, and complete a ranked speedrun on any classic park. These are far easier than they sound. Simply go into ranked mode (which is still single player) and complete a run of Warehouse in each game type. It doesn't matter how well you do, just complete a run of each.
    • Complete 3 of the 4 Create-A-Park challenges listed in game. These are very straightforward to do. Load up the Create-A-Park mode and place the required objects. Landing a 1,000 point combo should pose zero challenge.
    • Complete 2 of the following 3 challenges: Save a created park to your collection, remix a park, upload a park. These all take only seconds to do, so complete whichever two you want.
    • Complete all 4 smart object challenges. When you select a smart object in the Create-A-Park mode for the first time, you'll get a mini tutorial explaining how they work. This should make it simple enough to complete the four basic challenges required here.
    • Complete 4 of the 5 listed multiplayer challenges. These will all be completed naturally while working on all of the multiplayer achievements in the game.
    • Land any 6 of the listed combo challenges. There are many to choose from, and you're likely to complete most of them just naturally as you progress through Tours mode in each game. If you complete that mode first and have a fully upgraded skater, these challenges should pose little challenge. Just remember that unless it says no specials are allowed, you can use special grinds, air tricks, or manuals to easily get the required points.
    • Complete all other Veteran challenges. This will unlock after completing the above 9 challenges, and will unlock this achievement.
  • Earn the "Legend" Challenge Collection.

There are a total of 6 challenges that need to be completed for this achievement. You can check their progress from the main or pause menus by pressing :1rb: over to the Challenges tab, and then selecting Legend to view all the Legend Challenges. They are as follows:
    • Complete 3 of the 4 challenges listed below.
      • Do 10,000 grinds, flip tricks, manuals, grabs, or lip tricks. Load up the created park called "Hold Y for 10 million points" and hold button-y.png:1y: until you do 10,000 grinds.
      • Complete platinum score challenges on two classic parks. This is easiest to do on Warehouse and Hangar, but the scores will be tough until you've fully upgraded and are better at the game. This is a good choice to skip, of the four.
      • Complete 100 multiplayer matches. If you have two controllers, this is really easy to grind out with 30-second matches. Obviously do all other multiplayer achievements first before grinding this out.
      • Complete a speed run under par time for any 3 classic parks with goals. Warehouse, Hangar, and School are probably the easiest. They'll take some practice for sure. This is also a good candidate to skip, of the four.
    • Complete all skater challenges for any 3 pro skaters. Cheats can be used for all but two challenges for every pro skater, so definitely take advantage of that. Cheats also make it much easier to collect all their stat points. I also highly recommend using Street skaters. Their challenges are by far the easiest.
    • Complete all skater challenges for a created skater. This will complete when you unlock the Donut Mess with a Cop (30G) achievement.
    • Complete all goals and earn all gold medals in THPS1. This will complete upon unlocking the Grand Tourer (30G) achievement.
    • Complete all goals and earn all gold medals in THPS2. This will complete upon unlocking the Valhalla (30G) achievement.
    • Complete all other legendary challenges. This will complete after finishing the other five, and will unlock this achievement.
  • Complete all "Hard" Get-Theres.

This achievement is, by far, the hardest one in the game, and the main reason the game comes in at a 7/10 in difficulty. Without it, the rest of the game is around a 4/10. All of the Hard Get-Theres are their own individual challenge, viewed by pausing and tabbing over to the challenges tab, and then choosing the skate park option. From here, you can choose to look at either the THPS1 Get-Theres or THPS Get-Theres. You'll notice each level has two: a normal one, and one listed as Hard. It's only the latter ones that are needed for this achievement, and game mods must be disabled to do them. The normal ones aren't required for this achievement, nor any other achievements, but they give good XP rewards and you can use game mods for them, so I recommend getting them done too.

Below I have listed all Hard Get-Theres with a video showing the route I used to complete them. I then offer some tips and guidance for each one. Be prepared for many attempts at the harder ones. Also, it should go without saying, but wait until you have a fully upgraded skater (all stat points collected) before attempting these.

    Warehouse
A very easy one to start with. There's a decent chance you did this one naturally while playing. Simply follow the video, and once you get the proper angle to land the grind on the rail, it should pose minimal difficulty.

    School
The majority of this one isn't difficult, but the hardest part for me was getting from the two planter gaps onto the rail. The video shows a manual and hard left turn, but I was never successful at this. Instead, I jumped straight forward off the planter and did a manual to the quarter pipe ahead, ollie up and revert back to a manual, and then the jump to the rail is easy. The rest should pose no problems.

    Mall
This is one of the toughest ones in the game. You will need to do a ton of balancing between manuals and grinds, and need to keep track in your head of whether you're leaning to one side or the other when you exit a manual or grind. For me, the hardest part was consistently having enough air to make it down the second set of stairs. Make sure you jump at the last possible moment. The rest of the video is straightforward to follow, but one very important tip for the end: for the last stairset, aside from the fact that you need to ensure you ollie it from the lower level, you CAN wallride to ensure you clear the stairs. This makes this final gap trivial, as you barely need any speed to be able to clear the stairs with a wallride. Good luck with this one.

    Skatepark
This one is a challenging one too. It took me many tries, especially to get the right angle over the box and the grind, and then balance the manual while heading towards the pool. Thankfully the majority of the difficulty is in the beginning of this combo, so if you can make it to the pool you should be able to finish the rest easily. Regarding my strategy versus the video, I found that I was able to jump off the pool grind and go right to the little quarter pipe into the big halfpipe. I didn't need to go all the way to the wall and back.

    Downtown
Thankfully a relatively easy one after the last two. I recommend doing the deck gap, ollie over the car on the left, then ollie up and grind the bus stop to give yourself a break from manual balancing. Once you can get around the corner, the end is easy. Just pray a car doesn't plow into you and ruin your run. I also don't recommend grinding the ledge right at the end like he does in the video, as it gives you very little time to land and line back up with a kicker. I had plenty of speed without the grind.

    Downhill Jam
This one is relatively simple too with the right approach. The video shows a great way to do it. The hardest part about this one is getting the game to recognize and give you credit for the first grind gap. You need to start at the very first pixel at the end of the half pipe or it won't count. Thankfully, once you get it, turning around in a manual is pretty easy, and so is grinding down the other side. You'll need to balance a manual to the jump, but with your momentum it shouldn't be hard. Focus more on steering yourself forward through the small opening. Speed shouldn't be an issue for the final gap either.

    Burnside
This is one of the easier ones with one simple tip: remove all stat points from the Speed category before you attempt it. Otherwise, you'll find yourself continually overshooting the final grind.

    Streets
This one is mainly grinding with minimal manuals, so it shouldn't be too bad. The cars can be really annoying though, so stay alert. Other than that, with a bit of practice this one should go down easily.

    Roswell
This combo isn't that challenging, but the actual High Deck gap that you need to start with can be infuriating. I have seen many strategies to get this consistently. None really worked for me. The only success I had was gaining speed by doing specials, air over with a perfectly timed boneless, and hold rt.png:1rt: as soon as possible to try to get that extra bit of distance to clear the deck. It can be absolutely infuriating, because 95% of your time attempting this combo will be just in trying to clear the deck. Once you do, you have two options depending on which way you cleared it. If you were going toward the roll-in ramp, I recommend grinding the coping to the right, around the corners, and ollie the gap. Land in a manual and manual down the ramp and into the door to manual up past the alien, and then grind the three rails down and around. Then, manual back up the ramp and grind the coping to ollie the roll-in gap to another grind to finish it. If you clear the deck going the other way, go up the other quarter pipe and grind right. You'll be going fast, so you'll need to jump early to make sure you can land in a manual and still get into the doorway. This is a tougher path but still possible, and is the one shown in the video.

    Hangar
Thankfully a very easy one again after Roswell. With a fully upgraded skater this should post zero problems.

    School II
This is probably the hardest one in the game, and it will make or break you. If you can manage this one, you can manage them all. There are a couple options for how to structure this combo, but either way requires a godly level of manual balance, and a lot of grind balance. The video is the way I eventually landed this combo. The video makes it look easy, but trust me, you will spend a lot of time with this one. My recommendation is to first ride down to the gonzo rail in the back corner and knock over the pole. I found it easier to ollie from the gonzo rail to the curved low grind spot, to the knocked over pole, and then right into the next grind spot, rather than doing a manual around the corner. Getting that far is tough, but then getting from the gonzo rail to the final rail is brutal. You need to grind down the final rail, not up it, and the guy in the golf cart is always a threat to ruin your run. Practice, practice, practice, and prepare to have your patience tested.

    Marseille
Another one that is thankfully pretty easy. The trickiest part is getting the timing and speed right so you don't overshoot any grinds. There should be no issues with balancing here. I recommend taking down your Speed stat again if you always overshoot the rail to rail gap.

    New York City
This is another relatively easy one once you get used to the timing of when to jump on the back grinds by the food stand. Once you're done at the food stand, grind as much as possible coming back to the sculpture so you avoid the cars.

    Venice Beach
This one isn't too bad, especially with all the experience you should have by now. Turning back around to the Canyon Jump can be tricky, but it isn't too bad. The most annoying part is making sure you land right at the start of the long manual pad otherwise you won't get credit for the gap. You should have plenty of speed and shouldn't need to worry about losing your balance though, so focus entirely on steering to keep yourself on the manual pad.

    Skatestreet
Another relatively easy one, as long as you use the trick in the video to start the combo. Making sure you ollie out of the pool at the right time is the most critical part. The rest, for getting up to the USA grind and then down to the small final gap, should pose little problems.

    Philadelphia
This one isn't too bad for the most part but it'll put your grind skills to the test. I found it surprisingly easy to steer and stay on track, so I think this combo is actually set up well to flow with the level for once. Getting up to the top of the final wire with enough speed and without losing your balance will be the toughest part, but it should just be a matter of practice.

    Bullring
This is definitely the second hardest one, after School II, and will again test your patience. I have seen two entirely different ways to approach this one. Neither is easy, but I'll go over what I feel is the easier method.

The first video is not the method I used, but seems to be the most common approach. In my opinion it's harder, mainly because that Launch to Banana gap requires a high level of accuracy to make sure you don't miss the grind, and it's right in the middle of the run.

The second video is the route I used. It starts with the Launch to Banana gap, eliminating the need to hope you get the angle right during your combo. One thing I will note is that, with full stats and a special active, I didn't need to pick up any speed to start this combo. I would start from a stopped point right at the bottom of the launch ramp and had no problem reaching the banana grind almost every time. One other important thing to note relative to the video is that I highly recommend, after the banana grind is done, that you ollie over the little board grind inside of doing a manual around it, and DO NOT try to cut a hard left turn and grind right up the rail like in the video. It will be very frustrating trying to have enough speed to get up it that way. Instead, manual straight past it to the wooden quarter pipe (the one with no color on it) and ollie up and revert to come back straight at the rail and grind up it. This is a really difficult combo, so be prepared to practice a ton.

    Chopper Drop
The easiest one in the game. Follow the video and you'll probably do it first try.

    Skate Heaven
Thankfully we end with another pretty easy one. The only important thing here is making sure you ollie at the proper time so the gaps trigger. Other than that, balance and speed should be non-issues.

  • Reach Career level 10.

Refer to ONE HUNDRED! (30G) for more information.
  • Reach Career level 100.

Reaching level 100 is by far the longest part of this game's completion. It will take you around 20 or so hours to unlock all other achievements in the game. From there, you'll be looking at another 8 or so hours of pure grinding to reach level 100.

Before even bothering grinding out XP to reach level 100, there are a number of things you should do first that will help you along your journey to level 100:
    • Complete all goals and get gold medals in all competitions in THPS1. See Grand Tourer (30G)
    • Complete all goals and get gold medals in all competitions in THPS2. See Valhalla (30G)
    • Complete all Rookie challenges. See Rookie of the Year (15G)
    • Complete all Veteran challenges. See Going to the Vet (30G)
    • Complete all Legendary challenges. See Legen-Dairy (80G)
    • Complete all Gap collections. See Gap Master (80G)
    • Complete all Hard Get-Theres. See Got There (80G)
    • Complete all normal Get Theres. There isn't an achievement for these, but cheats can be used for the normal ones, making them very easy, and they give good XP rewards. Simply read the description of each one in its level and cross check it with the gap lists in the Gap Master (80G) achievement solution, then string all those gaps together in one combo.
    • Unlock all other achievements. Many have challenges tied to completing them, meaning you'll get XP on top of the achievement.
With all of that done, there are a couple other types of challenges you could do to knock out some fast XP.
    • Each pro skater has 21 challenges specific to them, but they're always in the same format. What I recommend doing is picking a pro skater, check the challenges to see what their four specials are that they have challenges for, and customize their specials so all four are set up with button combos that are easy to remember. I set them all to dpad-up.pngdpad-down.png or dpad-down.pngdpad-up.png and then the button (either button-x.png:1x:, button-y.png:1y:, or button-b.png:1b:), but choose whatever is easiest for you to remember. Now load up a small level like Hangar or Roswell, and make sure game mods are all turned OFF. Build up your special meter to full, then go into a half pipe. You're going to do a combo with all four specials in a single combo. Do any air specials first in the half pipe, using reverts to combine them in one combo, then air out and manual (using a special manual if applicable) to a rail, where you can finish off your combo with any special grind(s). You should easily score more than 60,000 points in this single combo. Landing it will unlock a ton of challenges for that skater. Do this for each pro skater to unlock a huge amount of challenges and XP rewards. It goes quick once you get used to setting it up.
    • At this point you may be good enough to try for some of the platinum scores. They're relatively low in early levels such as Warehouse, Hangar, and School, and with a fully upgraded skater you may be able to manage them relatively easily. If you can, it's a nice chunk of extra XP.
Once you've done all of that, you'll likely be somewhere around level 65 or so. While it may be natural to assume you're two thirds of the way to level 100, you're not even close. From an XP requirement, the halfway point is level 84. When you reach level 84, you'll have earned half of the total XP required to reach level 100. At this point, unfortunately, the most efficient way to get XP to reach level 100 is a rather boring grind. While it may be tempting to work on other challenges, the XP rewards for most are miniscule, and take too long to complete them. This method is the fastest method to grind out the remaining XP, despite it being pretty boring and decently long.

Here is the most efficient method. First, turn all cheats on for perfect rail balance, perfect manual balance, no bails, and always special. Also make sure to turn on Double Base Score, as that is the most crucial part of this method. Now pick any skater and map the special The 900 as one of their specials. It doesn't matter what skater you pick, and it doesn't matter what button combination to map The 900 to, but make the button inputs something easy to press quickly. I recommend :1down: :1up: :1b: or vice versa. I highly recommend avoiding using :1left: or :1right: so you don't accidentally jump to one side when trying to quickly press the buttons. With that set up, you're going to go into Tours mode, pick THPS2, and select the level New York City. You spawn right next to a wall on your left. Here's what you're going to do:
    1. Immediately ollie onto the ledge to your left and grind it.
    2. When you get to the gap in the ledge, ollie over it, do a 900 by quickly inputting the button combo you mapped it to, and then press :1y: to land back in a grind. Obviously you normally wouldn't have enough time to finish The 900 before grinding, but with No Bail turned on, you only need to start the special to get credit for it.
    3. Continue to ollie, do a 900, and land back in a grind. You should be able to do 2 more 900s before the angle in the ledge. Grind around the ledge and don't jump off.
    4. After the angle, you should be able to jump and do two more 900s before getting to the next gap in the ledge.
    5. Ollie over the gap, do another 900, and land in a grind on the other side of the gap.
    6. Let yourself run into the chain-link fence, ending your combo. If done correctly, you should have gotten over 1,000,000 points in a single combo.
    7. As soon as the combo score turns blue on the bottom of the screen, pause the game, go to End Run to end the run and get your XP, and then choose to Retry Level. Repeat from Step 1 above.
This might sound a bit crazy at first, but it works, although it is a little chaotic at first before you get the rhythm down. The goal here is to score 1,000,000 points in a single combo as fast as possible. This is done by using cheats to do many 900s in a single combo. Each run should take around 11 seconds, and you should get 300 XP per run (150 XP for a 1,000,000-point combo, and 150 XP for a total score over 1,000,000 points). This means you'll be getting 300 XP every 15 seconds or so, including load times. It will still be extremely repetitive and intense, but it is relatively quick compared to other methods that were used previously. Also, in terms of timing of the actual combo, as I mentioned before, it will take a couple tries to get the rhythm down. Once you're grinding, assuming you have The 900 mapped to :1down: :1up: :1b: like I mentioned above, you're going to very quickly press :1a: to ollie, then :1down: :1up: :1b: :1y: (to do The 900 and then immediately grind again). You have to be quick, but once you do it a handful of times it'll become muscle memory and you won't need to think about it. As soon as you hit the ground at the end and your score turns blue, immediately pause and press :1up: :1a: to End Run, and then mash :1a: to get through the summary screens and to Retry Level. One last thing to note is that I found it much easier to use the directional pad to execute this combo over and over. I did The 900 more reliably and didn't have to worry about accidentally jumping to one side because I pushed the thumbstick a bit in one direction.
  • Paint 100 surfaces in Graffiti across all playtime.

*This achievement requires either two controllers or an online connection*

This is cumulative over all games played. The quickest way to boost this is with a second controller in local games. I found the School level to be really good for this achievement. Start up 30 second games on School. Grind the planters at the top area, grind down the rail, and grind all the tables and ledges around the bottom area of the level until time runs out. You should be able to get 10-20 tags per round. Repeat until you reach 100 total to unlock this achievement. The same strategy can be used with a boosting partner online if you don't have a second controller.
  • Give 50 Letters in Horse.

*This achievement requires either two controllers or an online connection*

This achievement is cumulative over all games played. You can either do the standard HORSE format or you can make a custom word out of up to 16 letters. The quickest way to unlock this achievement is to boost it with a second controller in local games. Simply load up a game, do a single flip trick with your main account, then ollie and grab to bail with your guest controller to get a letter. Repeat until you've given a total of 50 letters with your main account to unlock this achievement. The same strategy can be used with a boosting partner online if you don't have two controllers.
  • Land a 50,000+ point combo.

Refer to You Broke the Scoreboard (80G) for more information.
  • Achieve a High Score of 1,000,000+ on any classic Park.

Refer to You Broke the Scoreboard (80G) for more information.
  • Land a 1,000,000+ point combo.

Refer to You Broke the Scoreboard (80G) for more information.
  • Achieve a High Score of 10,000,000+ on any classic Park.

While there may be "legitimate" ways to score this many points, there is thankfully a simple workaround to unlock all four of these achievements. Despite the achievement descriptions implying otherwise, created parks can be used for these achievements. Do note though that game mods must be disabled for these achievements to unlock.

From the main menu, go to the Create A Park menu and select to search the created parks. Search for "Hold Y" and you'll find a park called "Hold Y for 10 million points" or something like that. Load into the park, and jump and grind on the bit of rail sticking out in front of you. Hold button-y.png:1y: and you'll get stuck in a spot of getting "Kissed the rail" bonuses over and over insanely fast. You'll amass a massive combo very quickly. Just hold down button-y.png:1y: until your combo gets you over 10 million points (do some simple math in your head to check) and then simply let go of button-y.png:1y: to land it, unlocking all four of these achievements.
  • Complete all Gap collections.

*Cheats can be used for this achievement*

Every level in THPS1 and THPS2 (including Roswell, the Bullring, and Skate Heaven) has a challenge for landing all gaps in that level. To view a checklist of the gaps, load up the level, pause the game, scroll down to Options, and then choose View Gaps. The ones you haven't landed yet will be gray, and ones you have landed will be white.

As noted above, you can make these significantly easier by using cheats. First, you'll want to complete all goals and gold medals in both games. Once that's done, you'll be able to pause the game and go to Game Mods to turn on cheats. For this achievement, you'll absolutely want to turn on perfect manual, grind, and lip balance, turn on No Bails so you can't fall no matter what you do, turn on Always Special so you're always going extra fast with a full meter, and you can also turn on Super Stats to help, especially if you're playing with a skater that you haven't collected all the stat points for. With all of those on, it's just a matter of getting the correct distance, accuracy, etc., for each gap, which shouldn't prove too difficult. One thing I do want to point out though, is that if you find yourself constantly overshooting a gap, such as going too far or too fast, don't hesitate to turn off Super Stats, turn off Always Special, and even go into your stats and remove stat points from the Speed category to slow you down. I had to do this on a few gaps, especially ones in Burnside.

As for the gaps themselves, the names of them in the gap checklist ingame are far too vague to figure out without a guide. There are far too many gaps to list, so here is a text guide, which is the one I used:

    THPS1 All Gaps
    THPS2 All Gaps

For those that prefer video guides (which may be helpful to visualize how some gaps are done) here are two videos courtesy of Maka:

  • Place 500 objects in CAP.

The fastest way to grind out this achievement is to go to the Create A Park section from the main menu. Launch a new park on the default map. Now, scroll right to something small, like a small box. Move the cursor to the back left corner, and then hold right while you mash button-a.png:1a: to place objects over and over. When you get to the end, move forward and repeat in the other direction. You'll reach 500 objects in a few minutes.
  • Earn 5,000,000 points in Trick Attack across all playtime.

*This achievement requires either two controllers or an online connection*

Refer to Combo Total (30G) for more information.
  • Earn 2,000,000 points in Combo Mambo across all playtime.

*This achievement requires either two controllers or an online connection*

These achievements are cumulative across multiplayer games played, whether they be local with a second controller or online against someone. While this will unlock eventually after many, many games, there is a very fast way to grind this out (literally). Go into multiplayer and set up a session. When you're prompted to choose the level, go to the Create A Park option. From there, choose to search for a created park. Search for "Hold Y" to find a park called something like "Hold Y for 10 million points." When you start the session, ollie and grind on the bit of rail sticking out in front of you. Hold button-y.png:1y: and you'll get stuck in an endless loop of getting "kissed the rail" bonuses extremely fast. Just hold :1y:button-y.png until your combo is high enough, then let it go to land the combo. You can easily reach 2 million points in a single combo this way, or do it in a couple sessions. Just be aware that when the session ends, there will be some serious lag while the game loads up your highest combo. Don't fret; the game didn't freeze.

Secret achievements

  • Find every alien plushie.

*Cheats can be used for this achievement*

Every level in the game, including the two secret levels in THPS2, has a single alien plushie hidden in it, for a total of 19 plushies. They are small green stuffed alien dolls, are typically hidden in a dark corner, and are normally very difficult to spot if you don't know where to look. Since trying to describe them in text would be incredibly difficult, refer to the following video guide, courtesy of Achievement Squad, for all locations. Note that you can simply load up the level, skate to the plushie to get it, and then end your run immediately. It'll count as collected.

  • Get hit by the Bull in Bullring.

You'll first need to unlock the Bullring level by completing the majority of the goals and getting at least a bronze medal on all three competitions in THPS2. Once you unlock Bullring, load it up. It's a circular level. Around the outside ring of the level is a pit with a bull running in circles. Simply air over the quarter pipe into the pit and wait for the bull to run you over.
  • Get hit by a vehicle on every map that features them.

There are a total of 5 levels that feature vehicles:
    THPS1
    • Downtown - get hit by one of the cars driving around
    • Streets - there is a big trolley driving around the street
    THPS2
    • School 2 - there is a golf cart driving around the level
    • New York - there are cars near the starting area
    • Philadelphia - there is a bus on the streets at the outer edge of the level
As soon as you've been hit by a vehicle in each of the five levels, a challenge will complete and this achievement will unlock.
  • Unlock Officer Dick.

Officer Dick is unlocked by completing all 24 challenges for a created skater. You'll first need to create a skater, which isn't immediately obvious how to do. From the main menu, press button-y.png:1y: to change skater, then scroll up to the open boxes with the plus sign and select one to begin the creation process. Pick anything while creating; there is no impact on your skater's performance. With that done, you're ready to start working on the challenges.

To see all of the challenges, pause the game and use rb.png to go over to the Challenges tab, then go down to the boxes on the lower left and choose the Skater Challenges. If you're playing as a created skater, the Create A Skater challenges should be the top one on the list. You can read through all the challenges on the right. If you've previously completed all the THPS1 and 2 goals as another skater, what I recommend doing first is quickly going through all levels to collect all of the stat points. If you have cheats unlocked, feel free to turn them all on to make collecting the stat point collection quicker.

With that done, it'll make the challenges much easier. I have put together a separate list of the challenges and a mini guide for them, located in THIS POST. Refer to it for any help on completing any specific challenges. Note that, unless a challenge description in the game specifically states that game mods must be disabled, you CAN use whichever cheats you want to make it easier to complete that challenge.

Once you've completed all 24 challenges for a created skater, you'll unlock Officer Dick and this achievement, and you'll also complete the 'Rags to Riches' legendary challenge, which is required for another achievement.
  • Ouch!

    Bail a 100,000+ point combo.

*Cheats can be used for this achievement*

The description here is self-explanatory: bail during a combo in which you've already amassed over 100,000 points. This happened naturally to me when using the strategy described in Can't Judge Me (15G) below, but since the High as a Kite (30G) achievement requires you to land a combo of 1,000,000+ points, you can use the same strategy there to amass enough points, then simply bail during the trick to unlock this achievement. Alternatively, you can turn on cheats for perfect manual and/or rail balance, then do a long grind or manual combo. Once you're certain your combo is over 100,000 points, simply ollie and hold a grab until you hit the ground, ensuring you bail, at which point this achievement will unlock.
  • Break 20 Panes of Glass.

This is a cumulative achievement across both games and all modes. As a result, this will almost assuredly come naturally as you work toward completing all goals in all levels of both games. The Mall level in THPS1 has a lot of glass to break through, from the starting area windows, to all the directories, and more throughout. Just this level alone may get you this achievement, depending on how many runs it takes you to complete all of the goals. If you don't unlock this achievement naturally, destroy the glass in the beginning of the Mall over and over by restarting runs.
  • Achieve a judge score of 99.9 on a competition run.

As the description says, you need a single judge to give you a score of 99.9 during any single heat in any competition in Tours mode. This is essentially a perfect score. As a result, you will need to complete a heat without a single bail to get a perfect score. In terms of how high of a score you need, I scored around 250,000 in the first competition, Skate Park, and got a perfect score from all judges. I'm unsure what the cutoff is, but aiming for over 200,000 is a good bet. Note that the point requirement depends on the specific competition.

In terms of getting a score that high, it's relatively easy if you have your grind and manual balance somewhat upgraded. The strategy I use is to grind around the pool bowl in the corner. You should be able to get a solid one full lap around before losing your balance. While grinding, continually alternate two-button combos between button-x.png:1x:, :1y:button-y.png, and button-b.png:1b:. For example, button-x.pngbutton-x.png quickly, then button-x.pngbutton-y.png quickly, then button-y.pngbutton-y.png, etc. This will build up a huge combo while you grind. Before losing your balance, jump off and go right into a manual, and repeat the same type of button combos while doing a manual. This should allow you to build up a huge combo, easily clearing 75,000 to 100,000 points in a combo. Do this twice in one heat and it will likely get you a perfect score as long as you didn't bail.
