Step One: Hard Playthough
Straight off the bat you will want to do your Hard playthrough, you need to do this to unlock Old School mode. It isn't tough to complete, especially if you start on this mode as you will be learning to play on hard straight away. During this playthrough it would be a good idea to get all misc achievements saving you the hassle of having to do it on a harder mode, of course if you'd like you could always go back on easy for another playthrough for misc/collectible achievements.
Step Two: Old School Playthrough
Old School mode is the same as hard except this time you don't have last chance. So be sure to take your painkillers when they are needed.
Step Three: Hardcore Playthrough
This is the hard one, on this difficulty you will be killed in 3 shots or so. You will need to combine cover with bullet time () in this playthrough while always going for the headshot on enemies when possible. See Payne In The Ass for tips.
Step Four: Clean Up Misc/Collectible
If you haven't obtained all misc/collectible achievements then now is your chance to go back and get them. You can use mission and checkpoint select to return to the desired spot in the game to obtain the missed achievements/collectibles. All misc achievements with [FREE AIM] in the description must be done with free aim, all others can be done with whatever aim assist you like.
Step Five: A New York Minute
Upon completion of the single player you unlocked the game mode 'A New York Minute' which can be found in 'Arcade' from the main menu. You will need to finish the standard version to unlock the hardcore version then complete that version as well. See The Shadows Rushed Me.
Step Six: Online
Now that you have all single player achievements out of the way you can move on to the online game mode. Most of the achievements obtained online will come naturally, except for a few, so just have fun, the online achievements are very easy to get.

Welcome to the first of four multiplayer DLC's released for Max Payne 3. This DLC features 3 new maps and a new weapon plus other smaller unlockables. Most of the achievements in this pack can be unlocked through natural playtime online, you may have trouble with "Express Checkout" therefore boosting this will be the easier option.

Introduction
The Hostage Negotiation Map Pack DLC for Max Payne 3 features four new multiplayer maps specially designed for online action. Battle it out in Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer on Club Moderno, Estadio Do Galatians, Favela Heights, and O Palacio Strip Club. In addition to new maps, there are new weapons and items too. The IA2 Assault Rifle and M24 Sniper Rifle bring two more powerful weapons to the multiplayer arena plus the new Bomb Suit, Heavy Helmet and Intimidation Mask Items provide even more flexibility for your arsenal. Lastly, there is an additional faction known as the "Filhos De Ogum" and the devastating new Explosive Burst for use in Multiplayer.
The Hostage Negotiation Pack is available for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE. Rockstar Pass owners of course receive it free of charge.
Step One: Early Adopter + WMD + 60 Seconds of Intimidation
It is possible to earn all three of these achievements in a single game of Deathmatch, as long as you have a full boosting party of 8 players.

This can be done on your own in a Private match.

Introduction
Inspired by the grisly shootouts from Max’s past, the Painful Memories Pack will bring four new maps and much more to Max Payne 3 Multiplayer.
Revisit the subway bloodbath from the original Max Payne in the Roscoe Street Subway map. Flashback to the dingy Hoboken watering hole at Marty’s Bar, open fire on the posh Branco family yacht in Shoot First and wage Gang Wars at Canal De Panamá. The Painful Memories Pack also includes the IMG 5.56 and UAR-21 Assault Rifles, new factions and items. There is also the Hangover Burst, which causes enemies to respawn with blurred vision, reduced stamina and health.
The Painful Memories Pack is available for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE. Rockstar Pass owners of course receive it free of charge.
Step One: Bar Brawler + Drinker's Revenge
They can be done in the same match, in the "Marty's Bar" map. Make sure you have a loadout with the Hip Flask item equipped, and your partner with a Sniper Rifle loadout.
Step Two: Ouch My Head
It's suggested you boost this one with a 8-player lobby on the "Branco's HQ" map. Make sure you have a loadout with the Hangover Burst equipped.
Step Three: Long Arm of the Lawless
This achievement must be obtained on the larger Panama Canal map in the Payne Killer game mode.
Step Four: Welcome Ashore
This must be done in Gang Wars. The observation deck is located south-west to the yacht, it should be be mistaken for the large, 2-story building right next to the boat.

DLC #4: Deathmatch Made in Heaven

Introduction
As the last DLC for Max Payne 3, the Deathmatch Made in Heaven DLC Pack brings heaps on content! To begin, there are four all-new Co-Op and competitive modes to Max Payne 3's Multiplayer. There's also a host of new close-combat weapons, such as the stun gun and cattle prod. Here is a run-down of the new game modes.
Dead Men Walking - 2 Player Co-Op Mode
Fight endless waves of enemies as Max and Passos - using teamwork and skill to earn Grit and open up new areas of the map as well as weapons, weapon attachments, painkillers and ammo. See how long you can fend off the bloodthirsty onslaught and rack up big points.
Run & Stun Mode
This all-new competitive multiplayer mode casts one random player in the role of the diabolical Saci, Captain Baseball Bat Boy's nemesis - using superior strength, unlimited stamina, and a deadly combination of the new Stun Gun and a weighty melee attack to try and turn all the other players to his side.
Marked Man Mode
This vendetta-fueled take on Max Payne 3's Deathmatch mode awards extra points for successfully exacting revenge on adversaries as well as surviving Vendettas placed on you by other players.
Time Attack Mode
Rack up the kills before time runs out in the new Time Attack Deathmatch mode, where taking out multiple targets within a short period of time will earn you considerable bonus points.
Challenge Arcade Mode
This mode is highly entertaining and will keep you on the edge of your seat, as you are thrown into each level of the game's story with impromptu challenges. Fail a challenge, and you are to restart from the last checkpoint you obtained. Some of the challenges range from registering a set number of headshots, killing enemies with explosive kills, kills from BulletTime and more. You will find this mode quite appealing as you progress through the challenges.

Step One: Three Blind Mice + Sweaty Betty + Betty Confetti + Resisting Arrest
All four of these achievement can all be done in the same match. Make sure you have three different loadouts; one with the Stun Gun/Cattle Prod, another with Bouncing Betties, and a third with the Pepper Spray can. While Betty Confetti and Resisting Arrest may come naturally over the course of gameplay in Multiplayer, it is suggest that Sweaty Betty and Three Blind Mice be boosted with three others players to ensure they are done properly.
Step Two: Breaking and Entering
This should be done next. You will need a good partner who will communicate with you throughout the match. If you do not have a partner already, you will find one while searching for a match, or you can use the Achievement Trading Thread to find a partner.
Step Three: Breaking the 4th + It Looked Easy Enough
Challenge Mode will probably be last on your list here. Breaking the 4th can be obtained within the first Chapter of Challenge Mode, while It Looked Easy Enough will require you to complete the entire Story in this mode. Neither are too difficult, and It Looked Easy Enough does not need to be completed in one sitting like New York Minute Mode.
