Originally planned for a nebulous 2023 release, open-world RPG Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn has now been pushed to an equally non-specific 2024 launch window, effectively delaying the game by a year.

“We want to update our fans on the development of Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn,” developer Aurora 44 confirmed on Twitter. “To make Flintlock the absolute best experience it can be at launch, we have made the decision to move the game’s release to 2024.”

The studio states that it has “been hard at work crafting a unique and deeply detailed open world brimming with thrilling fights, rewarding exploration and a true sense of discovery," adding that “it’s important to our whole team that Flintlock is a special experience, and we owe it to ourselves and to all of you who have been following the game since we announced to make it the most impressive and unforgettable game it can be.”

Ashen developer A44 also promises updates on the game will be coming “soon”, but, for the time being, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is pencilled in for a 2024 release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC, available day one via Xbox Game Pass.

  • Cross this game off my wish list
  • Honestly the more this game shows the more it looks like a miss, Forspoken looked good but as more was shown it became skip especially after the demo
  • Good.

I'm really liking what I'm seeing but this year is just ridiculously stacked for games.

A bit of extra time won't hurt it
