The Crew Motorfest Gameplay - Ubisoft Takes a Shot at Forza Horizon

Over the course of two games, The Crew has stuck to racing across a vast rendition of the USA, but, for The Crew Motorfest, all that is set to change.

Instead, you'll find yourself tearing across the exotic Hawaiian islands, and, for our recent hands-on with the game's Closed Beta, we had free rein to explore the colourful vistas of O'ahu. Head-to-Head races and The Grand Race are among the modes on offer, as well as an automotive battle royale.

The Crew 2's vehicle transformations also make a comeback, so you can be driving a Porsche one minute, then soaring through the clouds in a propeller plane, before dropping into the nearest river in a speedboat. It all looks like jolly good fun, even if it is very clearly inspired by Playground Games' Forza Horizon series.

You can get ten minutes of The Crew Motorfest gameplay below, ahead of the game's launch on 14th September.

  • "Motorfest" just makes me want to play MotorStorm 1 or 2.

Not sure how long Forza have been doing that, but can you really claim inspiration, when both Mariokart and Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed both did it years ago?
  • I have no idea whay the author would think "it is very clearly inspired by Playground Games' Forza Horizon series." since the Forza Horizon series has never had planes or boats.
