While James Cameron has about fifty Avatar movies planned (or like, five or something), next up is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, an open-world affair in which you play as a blue-skinned Na'vi, defending the eponymous planet from military interlopers.
Like Cameron's visionary films, Frontiers of Pandora has an impressive sense of scale and scope, its world, with floating spires of rock, twisting tendrils of vine, exotic flora and fauna, and forest canopies stretching into the horizon, dropping your jaw as you explore it from the back of a dragon-like ikran.
Sharing DNA with Far Cry, you'll find yourself infiltrating and sabotaging enemy bases, dispatching foes stealthily with a bow and arrow, or going in guns blazing with an assault rifle. There's Mirror's Edge-style first-person parkour, third-person aerial combat, and more besides. It's looking like quite an exciting prospect.
You can find out more about Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora in our 15-minute gameplay video below, ahead of the game's launch for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on 7th December.
