Introduction:
Welcome to the Mafia II roadmap! The achievements in the game are fairly straightforward. To obtain the full 1000, you'll need to beat the game on the hardest difficulty, collect two sets of collectibles, and do some miscellaneous tasks throughout the game. Overall, it's fairly easy to do, but some points during the game can get quite difficult on the hardest difficulty.

Step 1: Preparation
There are a few things you will need to prepare for if you're going to get the full 1000 in Mafia II in one playthrough. First, make sure you have the Playboy guide available as you progress through the game to ensure you get the "Ladies' Man" achievement. There is no free roam available to collect missed Playboy magazines, meaning if you miss any you'll need to play back through whichever missions contain the magazines all over again in order to collect the ones you missed. Also, as you progress through the game, remember to use the same vehicle whenever possible (for "One Careful Owner") and to get in each new car you see (for "Petrol Head"). Be aware that the end of Chapter 5 in the story marks the end of gameplay in the 1940s, which is when certain vehicles are available only. Make it a point to drive in 6-8 different vehicles before the end of Chapter 5. Doing so will eliminate the need to replay one of these chapters in order to look for more vehicles to drive.

Lastly, one very important thing to be aware of is a serious bug in Chapter 14. At one point during this very long story chapter, you'll be instructed to raise money, and the game will tell you to rob stores or bring cars to the crusher to make money. When you get to this point, DO NOT under any circumstances rob any stores. In fact, don't rob any stores during Chapter 14 at all. If you do rob any stores, know that when you do finally get to the very end of the mission to meet with Bruno, there will be no cutscene that triggers to end the mission. You'll have to quit to the main menu and start Chapter 14 from the beginning, and play through it without robbing shops. Seeing as this is by far the hardest mission in the game, be sure to heed this warning.

Step 2: The Game
Start the game on hard and play through. Most of the achievements in the game are fairly straightforward, but there are a few that aren't required and can be passed up. For these, I've prepared a short guide below. Use this with the achievement guide below and you should be set to get 1000 in one playthrough.

  • Chapter 1: Attempt to get "Hairdresser" using the guide below.
  • Chapter 2: Get "A Proper Gentleman" using the guide below; "Proper Scrapper" is first available.
  • Chapter 3: Get "The Professional" and "Mail Man" using the guide below.
  • Chapter 5: Get "A Lesson in Manners" using the guide below.
  • Chapter 8:  "Exporter" is first available.
  • Chapter 9: This chapter has your first opportunity to get "Sharp Suiter"
  • Chapter 11: Get "Wake Up Call" and "End of the Rainbow" using the guide below. Also, when told to take Leo to the train station, before doing so, drive to a body shop and upgrade the car twice and get "Get Rich or Die Flyin'", "Pedal to the Metal," "Tuned Ride," and "Dream Handling" using the guide below
  • Chapter 15: This is the first point where all the Wanted posters are up, so get "Card Sharp" here before completing the game. This is also the best time to wrap up any miscellaneous achievements such as "Cruise Control," "Knucklehead," "Stuck Up," and "Hard to Kill"

Step 3: Wrap Up
If you followed the road map and guide perfectly, you should have 1000 as you complete the game. If not, load up chapters as needed and finish whatever achievements you have left to do.

Jimmy's Vendetta DLC

Note: The achievement "Millionaire" requires you to reach a score of 1,000,000 points. There are two ways to do this. The first is to play through this DLC on Hard difficulty and try to get as many points from kills, vehicle explosions, and finishing missions as quickly as you can. The second option is to use the glitch described in the "Explorer" achievement solution. This same glitch can be used to amass 1,000,000 points in approximately 4 hours, but it must be done in a single sitting. Choosing this latter method means you can play the DLC on Easy instead of Hard, making this DLC much easier and less stressful. The choice is yours, but I highly recommend playing on Easy and using the glitch mentioned to save yourself some stress and a lot of mind-numbing grinding.

This DLC only has three achievements that are story related. The rest of the achievements are cumulative, and none is a mission-specific achievement. There is only one achievement to highlight that you should be aware of as you play, and that is the "Armament King" achievement, which requires you to get a kill with every weapon in the game. Completing the car theft missions (which are required to progress in the story) gives you a ton of money. Make it a point to stop at Harry's, Giuseppe's, and a regular gun shop at some point after your second or so car theft mission and buy all of the available guns from each shop, as well as ammo for them. The only weapon not available in any of the shops in the Thompson M4A1, so keep an eye out for this on dead enemies in each mission.

Once you've completed all of the story missions, you'll have a bunch of cumulative achievements to grind out. If the strategy in the guide below is used for the "Firebug" achievement, you'll also easily unlock "Faster than Light." Likewise, when you grind out the "Massacre" achievement, you'll assuredly unlock "Sharpshooter" in process, assuming you didn't unlock it already. The final step of this DLC is to grind out miles driven for the "Explorer" achievement, which is why the estimated hours to complete this DLC is so high. As noted above, taking advantage of the glitch in the guide will also guarantee you the "Millionaire" achievement at the same time. Once you've finally accumulated 1000 miles driven, you'll finally be done with this DLC.

Joe's Adventures DLC

There are no achievement tied to difficulty in this DLC, so don't hesitate to play on Easy. First you should complete the story of this DLC. You will earn at least 5 achievements just for doing this, as they are the story related achievements that cannot be missed. Along the way, there are a handful of miscellaneous achievements that are best gotten during the missions to avoid replaying them:

  • During the opening mission 'The Witness,' be sure to unlock "Arctic Grave" at the end of the mission.
  • During the third mission 'Going Out of Business,' this is the first and easiest opportunity to unlock "Jack of all Trades."
  • Approximately two thirds of the way through the story, you'll get to a mission called 'Bet On That.' This mission requires you to follow a bookie to a gang and then kill them all. Immediately after killing them all, you'll notice a very nice car parked among the firefight. Take this car and park it in your garage so you have access to it whenever you want. Fully upgrading the engine on this car is the best vehicle to use to unlock "Hypersonic," "Jacked Jumper" and "Driftin' Daddy-O." Be aware that all three of these achievements must be done during missions and cannot be done during free roam.

All other achievements will unlock by playing through and completing all of the missions in the DLC.

Overall Conclusion:
Congratulations, you now have 1500 in Mafia II! While most achievements are relatively easy, some parts on Hard can prove quite frustrating and challenging. If you followed the roadmap and guide to save yourself mission replays, you should be able to get through the completion with minimal frustration. If you do have any problems, you will find a clear answer within the guide below.

  • Show that you know how to treat a lady.

At the start of Chapter 5, once you meet the lady in the apartment, you will leave the building and a cut scene will happen of a car accident. Head over to the cars and beat up the guy that is harassing her.

  • Help the woman fix her car in Home Sweet Home.

This is found during Chapter 2. After you help your sister and are on your way to Joe's place, you will find a car on the other side of the road after you exit the alley way (just before you turn right on the corner). You will find a couple arguing next to a broken down car with the hood up. Once the fight is over, he will walk away and once you go up to the car, it will give you the option to "Repair Engine" with .

  • Do your first job for Mike Bruski.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

The first job that you do is to steal a cream-colored Walter Coupe. Once you get the car back to the junk yard, the mission is complete.

  • Protect Francesca.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

You will fight a man harassing your sister. This will take you through the fighting tutorial. To dodge, just hold down the and you will dodge any punch that is coming at you.

  • Find all of the Wanted posters.

There is a total of 159 Wanted posters to be found around the entire city. Note that since there is no free roam, the posters must be found within the chapters, with some only available in later chapters.

360GameTV has provided all the locations HERE.

Refer to "Ladies' Man" or "Card Sharp" for more information

  • Keep any vehicle at 30 mph or over for 5 or more minutes.

Your best bet is to use a vehicle with good acceleration to be safe, but it isn't required. You'll want to drive the entire length of the highway around the map while staying above 30mph. While on the highway, you don't want to go as fast as you can. Instead, put the speed limiter on with and try to stay around 40mph. It will make you stay on the highway longer and you won't run out of road too early. The map below shows the route to take, and you should unlock this achievement well before getting off the highway at the end, provided you drive around 40mph the entire way.

  • Upgrade one of your cars to the maximum level.

Refer to the "Get Rich or Die Flyin'" achievement solution for more information.

  • Settle the score with the Irish once and for all.

After you escape the Irishmen and get to Joe's place in Chapter 11, you will go with him to a bar. After killing all of the enemies in the bar, the objective marker will lead you out the back door of the bar. Before you go out, know that the leader of the gang is going to jump in his car and drive away, and you need to kill him to unlock this achievement. There are a couple ways to accomplish this. The hardest way is to go out the back door, jump in a car, chase after him and attempt to run him down that way. The easiest way is to first ensure you grab the "greaser gun" in the back hallway where the last enemy was. Now, instead of going out the back door, go out the front door. The cutscene will play, and the leader will be driving towards you instead of away from you. Unload on the car witht he greaser gun and you should have no problem killing the leader before he can drive away. You can either aim for the driver to kill him or just above the rear wheel to blow up the car.

  • Sell 5 vehicles to Derek at the dock.

Derek only takes 2-door cars or nice cars. The first time you drop a car off for him is a "Greaser" hot rod during Chapter 8. His docks are found at the bottom of the map. You will pull behind the building and see a ship with a platform. Drive the car onto the platform and exit your car. Get off the platform and it will be raised onto the ship counting as one car.

The best way to unlock this achievement is to head to the parking lot right next to the northeast corner of Lincoln Park (the big green rectangle in the central western area of the map). Drive to the northeasy corner and there will be a set of stairs leading east down into a parking lot. There seems to always be a Lassiter Series 75 Hollywood that spawns in this parking lot, which is one of the cars Derek accepts.

  • Finish what you started.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Get all wheels of your car into the air for at least 20 meters and then touch the ground again.

A easy way to do this is during Chapter 11 once you have helped Leo escape and are told to take him to the train station. Before doing so, drive this very nice and fast car to a body shop and upgrade its engine twice. Doing so will unlock "Tuned Ride" and "Dream Handling." Now head to the main big bridge (central west part of the map) and go to the west side of the bridge. Drive across the bridge heading east and don't ease up on the gas. You'll easily build up enough speed for "Pedal to the Metal" as you near the end of the bridge. The east end of the bridge has as drop off in the road, where you'll go flying off and be airborn long enough to unlock this achievement.

  • Complete Chapter 5.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Kill 5 enemies in rapid succession with a headshot.

    Area #1
Right at the beginning of the game when you first take control of your guy, there are five enemies that you can kill. You have to kill all 5 before you can progress into the building. If you mess up, just hit the  and retry mission.

    Area #2
Another easy place to do this is at the very first chapter. You will go to the second floor and be on a balcony. You will see enemies shooting at you on the ground level. These are 4 headshots, then look to the left. A enemy will bust through the door and hit your buddy. Shoot him in the head and this will net you your 5 headshots. There is no known time of how quickly you must do this, so try to do them as fast as possible. It is okay if you miss, just have to kill all 5 enemies with a headshot in a row.

  • The police want you dead. Survive for 10 minutes!

Note that this achievement is not cumulative. It must be a single 10-minute stretch while at a 4-star wanted level. You can either do this the hard way, and just keep outrunning the cops, or the easy way by finding yourself an armored van and start shooting. Cops will start showing up so get inside the armored van. Get to a 4-star wanted level and just drive around until 10 minutes have passed because the van is completely bulletproof. No bullets will hit you, just make sure you are "wanted" and in sight of a police officer at all times. The easiest way to ensure the cops can't kill you while in an armored van is to drive to the scrapyard and drive your van into the car crusher, with the back of the van right at the entrance to the crusher. This will prevent cops from being able to shoot you. Now simply let your game idle for 10 minutes until this achievement unlocks.

  • Improve the dockworkers' haircuts.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

Once you talk to Derek, he will give you a job to ask the workers for their monthly payment of the barber. After you fight Bill, you will have all the money you needed to collect. Go speak to Derek, and get your cut of the pay.

  • Clean up after Joe.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

This is done during Chapter 10. After you find Joe drunk at the Lone Star, he will accidentally shoot the bartender. You put the body in the trunk and drop Joe off at home. After this, you must take the car to the Scrapyard without hitting or getting the police involved. Take it to the Scrapyard and put it in the crusher. Go to the top of the crusher and crush the car.

  • Complete Chapter 2.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

Once you are back at Joe's place, take a drink from the refrigerator. Go sleep on the couch in the kitchen and this chapter is complete.

  • Kill a total of 30 enemies using melee attacks.

These can be anyone you start a fight with. To start a fight, go up to someone at press to shove them. This will make them mad and go into the fight sequence. Men are generally the only ones that will fight back. Try to stay off the road, maybe in a hidden alley way so that the police don't see it and break it up.

A really easy place to do this is at the back of Derek's docks at the South End of the map. The dock workers respawn, and there are no police to break up the fights. You will get a wanted level though.

  • Find all of the Playboy magazines.

There are a total of 50 Playboy magazines to be found. Note that since there is no free roam, the magazines are only found within chapters, so if you miss any, you can reload the chapter and collect any you may have missed.

360GameTV has provided all the locations HERE.

  • Complete Chapter 7.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Finish the story on Medium difficulty level or higher.

Refer to "Tough Nut" for more information.

  • Sell all the gas stamps before the time runs out.

After you obtain the gas stamps, you will have to go from gas station to gas station to sell them. You have to sell a total of 6 before the time runs out. Make a good use of way-points on your map as they will help you get to them faster. Start with the gas station nearest you. Then there will be one to the North-East of your map also near you. After that, go to the gas station to the South-East, then to the center, and then the South-West side. Then your final gas station to go to is directly east of the one you were just at. You will go under a tunnel and end up at your final gas station. If all done correctly, you should have plenty of time to spare. Plan ahead and use of the way points; they will help you immensely.

  • Complete Chapter 9.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Complete Chapter 14.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

WARNING: There is a mission-breaking glitch that can occur in this mission that prevents you from being able to complete it, and requires you to restart the mission from the beginning from the main menu. After the sequence at the docks, you'll be instructed by the game to rob stores or bring cars to the crusher to raise money. DO NOT rob any stores. Doing so glitches the end of the mission and won't let you complete it. Seeing as this is easily the hardest mission in the game, you definitely don't want to have to replay it. So avoid robbing any stores during this entire Chapter just to be safe.

One other big tip for this mission: at the docks, there is a very frustrating fight that starts outside on the docks and then moves into the warehouse. This fight can be incredibly cheap and infuriating, but thankfully there is a bug to take advantage of to make this part much easier. After killing all of the enemies outside at the docks, you'll move toward the warehouse door and see a single enemy standing there. Kill him, and near him will be the car you drove to the docks to start the mission. Hop into your car and drive it off the docks into the water. You won't die, and instead you'll spawn back where the car was, only now, the big warehouse door is closed. Instead of entering the warehouse that way, go up the stairs to Derek's office. Stay inside Derek's office for the duration of the gunfight, and you'll find that using his office as cover is significantly easier than entering through the big door.

  • Complete Chapter 4.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Travel a total of 50 miles in one vehicle.

This has to be one single vehicle that you have used. If you put it into your garage, it's okay if you leave it somewhere during a mission. You can go respawn it at a garage. This car though cannot blow up or run out of gas, or you will have to start all over again. It's best to work on this right from the start of the game, because you'll be continually using the same vehicle for the first five chapters. Not only that, but this also allows you to use the Game Statistics menu to track how many miles you've driven with that car (assuming it's still early enough in the game that you haven't driven much with any other vehicles). The quickest way to grind out mileage is to head to the big bridge in the west central part of the map and drive back and forth across it.

  • Complete Chapter 11.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Learn what it means to be a Scaletta.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Travel at 125 mph.

Refer to the "Get Rich or Die Flyin'" achievement solution for more information.

  • Drive at least 30 different vehicles.

  • Sell 5 vehicles to Mike Bruski at the scrapyard.

You first meet Mike early on in the story when you go to get him a car. Go steal cars and within his scrapyard is a Car Crusher. Put five different cars in the car crusher and you will get paid for your troubles. You will likely unlock this during Chapter 14 since you'll be required to bring cars to the scrapyard to earn money, so don't bother focusing on this achievement before completing Chapter 14.

  • Buy your first luxury suit.

After you have crawled through the sewers in Chapter 9, you will be told to get new clothing. There is a clothing store that is really close to you once you leave the restaurant. They sell "tailored suits" there for $110. Buy any of them, and this achievement is yours.

  • Rob 5 stores in under 5 minutes.

Just as it says, you need to rob five stores in five minutes. To rob a store, you must go up the clerk near the register and press to shove them. This initiates to robbing, then go to the register and grab all the money. While it is possible, it might be best to avoid gun shops as they are armed and won't hesitate to shoot at you right away. Easy places to rob are clothing stores and gas stations.

  • Kill 50 enemies.

This will come naturally will playing through the game from shooting other gang members to cops. Anyone that shoots at you counts as a enemy. You should get this about halfway through the story.

  • Pay a visit to an old friend.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Complete Chapter 3.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Obtain the ration stamps without raising the alarm.

You get this mission once you meet Joe at the restaurant after you meet Derek. To not raise the alarm when you are going to get the ration stamps, you must go into the basement of the building and shut off the power to the alarm. You can stealth kill all three of the security guards fairly easily. Press while behind a guard to stealth kill them. Start with the one the second floor talking about his new TV. He is on the West side of the building. Then there is a guard that patrols the East side near the Directors office. Kill him on the stairs, then sneak up behind the guard behind the security desk in the lobby.

  • Complete Chapter 8.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Complete Chapter 6.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Finish the story on Hard difficulty level.

Complete all 15 Chapters on Hard difficulty. It is fairly easy since you do a lot of driving and a fair amount of shooting. Here are some tips to keep you alive:

    • Stay in cover at all times! A couple bullets may graze you and kill you.
    • Shoot at enemies when they are reloading. If they are in cover, be ready to shoot once they come around the corner to shoot again.
    • If you can, aim at a location you know enemies will run through. (Ex. A door or hallway) Be ready on the trigger.
    • If you keep failing in a spot, try to use a different tactic. (Ex. A different gun or moving to the opposite end of the hall)
    • Never go to shoot or come out of cover when you are getting fired upon. You will kill yourself in the process.
    • Have enough ammo before starting a mission. Don't run out of ammo in the middle of a firefight.
    • Make good use of the  cover system. You can slide to pieces of cover if you are in a tight squeeze.
  • Upgrade one of your cars one level.

Refer to the "Get Rich or Die Flyin'" achievement solution for more information.

  • Complete Chapter 1.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

  • Help Leo out of a tricky situation without getting caught.

During Chapter 11, you have to go to Leo's house. Once you have to escape, you must go around the house in a counter clockwise direction upstairs. This will take you through multiple doors and you will find a barrel that you can press next to. Do so and a cut scene will happen of you helping Leo down the balcony.

DLC: Jimmy's Vendetta

There are 10 achievements with a total of 250 points

  • Complete your first mission in "Jimmy's Vendetta."

When you start the DLC you will be in a prison, all you need to do is complete the first mission in front of you. You will be required to fist fight 3 guards whilst running through the prison. Real simple.

  • Achieve a 10x point multiplier in "Jimmy's Vendetta."

This achievement must be unlocked during a mission, not in free roam. You'll need to kill enemies and/or blow up cars to increase your score multiplier up to 10x to unlock this achievement. This can be done in multiple missions, but since you'll need to grind out car explosions for the "Firebug" achievement anyway, the method used in that achievement solution will essentially guarantee you unlock this achievement in the process.

  • Drive a total of 1,000 miles in vehicles in "Jimmy's Vendetta."

You will likely have only driven around 150 miles by the time you finish the story. So this is likely to be a big grind. There are two options for grinding out all of these miles. The first option is the fastest, but is completely manual, meaning you'll need to be actively playing the entire time, which will be a solid 20 hours of doing nothing but driving. Head to the freeway (yellow road on map) and keep driving from one head to the other. You can get a good speed so will cover miles quicker. If you start running out of gas, just steal another car and carry on.

The second method involves using a glitch in the map. This method is slower, but allows you to idle the game so you can do something else (go to work, sleep, etc.) which you progress towards this achievement. There is a clothing store in the southwest corner of the map that has a window you can drive through. The car will break the display window and you will free fall through the bottom of the map. You can average about 30 miles every hour. The image below shows the location on the map of this shop. It says "Electronics" on a white sign above the window. After you drive through the window and start falling, know that you do still need to band your controller to hold down the gas pedal in order to accumulate miles driven. Also be aware that there are reports of the achievement not unlocking if 1000 miles are reached while in the glitch spot. Instead, get close (990 miles or more) and then save, and quit. Reload the game, and drive the remaining mileage legitimately, and the achievement should unlock. Lastly, in order to save your progress while in the glitch, pause the game, go to Options, and then Game Options, and turn subtitles on or off. This will force a save when you leave the menu, saving your statistics.

  • Kill your enemies in "Jimmy's Vendetta" with every weapon available in the game.

When you get to the mission where you have to beat the Irish guys up in an alley, you beat one up then have to kill the rest. It's a good time to get your weapon kills here since you don't have to walk far from the mission start. You may need to wait til you have more money, so here's what to do before the mission:

Go to any gun shop (pistol on the map) and buy MAGNUM, 1911 SEMI, .38 REVOLVER, SHOTGUN and a M1 GARAND.

Then go to Harry's (a machine gun on the map, top left) and buy THOMSON 1928, MP40, GREASE GUN, .38 SMG, C96 PISTOL, KAR98 RIFLE, GRENADES.

Finally go to Guiesspe's (lock pick symbol in middle of map) and buy 1911 SPECIAL, MOLOTOVS.

Make sure you get as much ammo as you can to ensure you get at least 1 kill with each weapon. The final weapon is the THOMSON M1A1, which can be taken off a dead cop when they are at 4 stars. Save your game before and try and get one off a cop. As soon as you do, save the game and headback to the mission marker. It should also be noted that you may get the M1A1 off a gangster at a later date.

Now just do the mission, beat up the first guy then go through each of the weapons killing at least one guy with one of the weapons.

  • Destroy 100 vehicles in "Jimmy’s Vendetta."

By the time you complete all missions in this DLC, you'll likely be maybe around halfway done with this achievement. The faster way to grind out this achievement is to drive to the Observatory, which is where the "I Got the Stones" mission is. Park your car in the big parking lot here (where there are a ton of parked cars) and go to the mission marker and start the mission. This creates a save right there. Now run to the parking lot and use your shotgun to blow up all of the cars in the parking lot. There are more than ten, meaning you should easily unlock "Faster than Light" while you destroy the cars. Kill any cops that try to interfere. Once all of the cars are blown up, pause and choose to retry from last checkpoint. This will put you back at the mission marker but with all of your shotgun ammo back, all cars respawned, and you wanted level gone. Simply repeat until the achievement unlocks.

  • Kill 100 enemies by headshots in "Jimmy's Vendetta."

The description is self explanatory here, and in general you should always be aiming for enemies' heads when shooting at them. It's very likely you'll unlock this by the time you complete all missions in this DLC, as long as you continually aim for the head, but if not, you will assuredly unlock this while grinding out kills for the "Massacre" achievement, so don't waste time grinding out this achievement separately.

  • Finish all Car Dealer missions in "Jimmy's Vendetta."

For this you need to steal the cars that you are told to in the car stealing missions. These missions are required in order to progress through the story, and are marked by light blue markers on your maps. Simply get in the target car (killing any nearby enemies, if applicable) and drive it to the marked destination. All of these missions are short and easy.

  • Finish "Jimmy's Vendetta" on any difficulty level.

There are just over 30 missions to complete to unlock this achievement, which includes all yellow and green missions, and all of the car theft missions. This can be done on any difficulty level, and as noted in the roadmap, if you intend to use the glitch to unlock "Millionaire" then you can play on Easy and not worry about your score in any of the missions.

  • Earn 1,000,000 points in "Jimmy's Vendetta."

You will need to get 1,000,000 points to unlock this achievement. There are two different types of points in the game: mission score and city score. This achievement does NOT unlock when you're combined score is 1,000,000 points. You must get EITHER your mission score or city score to 1,000,000 points.

To get your mission score to 1,000.000 points, the only practical way is to play through the entire DLC on Hard, which increases the score you get per  mission. On top of that, you'll need to get lots of headshots and blow up lots of vehicles during each mission to raise your score per mission. This is the much more challenging and stressful option. For tips refer to this thread on the forums. Note: If you are replaying missions to increase your score, only the difference will be added (e.g. your old score was 10,000, your new score is 12,000 you will get 2,000 added to your score).

Increasing your city score to 1,000,000 is far easier and less stressful if you simply make use of the glitch described in the "Explorer" achievement solution. Once you get in the glitch, you'll continually get tons of points for jumps. Starting from zero city score, it will take around 4 straight hours of idling in the glitch spot to unlock this achievement. Unfortunately, there is no way to save your city score, so if you get to 999,999 city score and then turn off your console, you'll need to do it all over again. If you're good with idling for 4 straight hours in order to get the "Explorer" achievement anyway, this achievement will come naturally while working on that one.

  • Kill 1,000 enemies in "Jimmy's Vendetta."

Civillians and copys DO NOT count for this achievement.

By the time you finish all missions in this DLC, you are unlikely to be more than halfway done with this achievement. There are a couple preferred methods of grinding out kills. One is to replay the mission 'The Don' down on the docks, where you can kill 50-70 enemies per run of the mission. Each run takes a decent amount of time though. The second method is to replay the mission 'Sound and Furry' in the northern part of the map in the center. For this method, start the mission, run straight toward the first objective, shoot the two enemies on the other side of the fence, then run to the second objective and shoot the two enemies in the alley, and then shoot the three enemies running down the street toward you. After the seventh enemy dies, pause and retry from the last checkpoint and repeat. This method gets you 7 kills in under a minute per run, and is definitely the faster method.

DLC: Joe's Adventures

There are 10 achievements with a total of 250 points

  • Push the chief witness into the ice lake in "Joe's Adventures."

This is done during the first mission. Same method as "What Witness?" but you must stop his car when chasing him on the ice lake. When it’s done, drag him out of his car by pressing  next to the driver door and keep pushing him toward an open spot of water by pressing , he will not try to fight back or escape. As soon as you push him into the water the achievement will unlock. Just make sure that you are in front of him or next to him when you push him. If you're behind him, it will trigger a stealth kill on him instead of pushing him.

If you are struggling to get in front of your target's vehicle, you can also force his car into the water from behind or the side instead of pulling him out of the car. Be careful as it also possible to miss or skid into the water yourself.

If you fail just reload the checkpoint and try again.

  • Finish the Witness level in "Joe's Adventures."

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

You have to kill the chief witness which is hiding in a safehouse for the first mission. When you get there kill the cops and pick the lock of the house, a cutscene will start and you will end up chasing him in a car with poor handling. When chasing the witness, try to get your car right in front of his to stop him and make sure his front bumper touches your vehicle. Now you can pull him from the vehicle to kill him. See "Arctic Grave" to save yourself a replay of this mission..

  • Reach 10 different score actions in one mission in "Joe's Adventures."

There are many score actions you can perform during a mission. It is recommended to attempt this achievement on a mission that gives you a lot of time to complete them like "Going Out of Business".

    • Velocity (Drive faster than 80 mph)
    • High Velocity (Drive faster than 120 mph)
    • Drift
    • Jump
    • Vehicular Kill (Run over an enemy with your car)
    • Explosive Kill (Grenade kill)
    • Burning Kill (Molotov kill)
    • Headshot (Firearm kill to the head)
    • Melee Kill (Unarmed)
    • Stealth Kill
    • Standard Kill (Firearm kill without headshot)
    • Demolition (Shoot the gas tank on a car)

You need to get at least one point for each score action. If the points of a score action you were performing turn red, it means you failed and you have to try this score action again. When the tenth score action registers the achievement unlocks.

A method for easily obtaining this achievement is posted HERE By RadiantViper.

  • Reach 200 points for one Drift in "Joe's Adventures."

This must be done during a mission. Start near the diner in the top left corner of the map. On the left side of the large road that goes south from the diner, is a large grassy area filled with some trees. Drive there with a good car you have fully upgraded. Start driving on the grass at around 30mph and tilt your left stick side to side at an average speed. It may require some practice. As soon you hit 200 points, just stop without hitting anything and wait for the score action to register and the achievement will unlock. Any large area filled with grass, sand or dirt should be fine for this achievement.

This may also be done in the rail-yard as shown in the video.

  • Finish the Connection level in "Joe's Adventures."

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

Kill all enemies outside the warehouse, go inside and kill everything that’s hostile. Start the train and protect it by killing all enemies coming at you. When everybody is dead a cutscene will start and the achievement will unlock after.

  • Finish the Supermarket level in "Joe's Adventures."

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

At the start of the mission, kill all security personnel, get to the manager's office on the second floor and watch the small cutscene. Afterward, many cops will start to come from the main entrance downstairs. Take them out until the supermarket is filled with smoke. Follow your partner downstairs, kill more cops until you can reach the escape car and drive to the safe zone. Watch the cutscene and the achievement will unlock after.

  • Reach 2000 points for one velocity run in "Joe's Adventures."

This is best done after the mission "Supermarket". Two missions will appear, complete the one called "Bet on That". At some point during this mission, you will have to kill some thugs next to a car, a Delizia Grandeamerica. Grab the car when you’ve taken out everybody. Go to the safe zone first then take the car to a body shop, upgrade it to level 3, go to your house, store it in your garage and save. Next, start the second mission called "Going Out of Business" and drive to the highway at one end of the big bridge. Drive on the highway at max speed and honk the cars so they get out of your way. You should get to 2000 points in the first turn, so slow down for the points to register and the achievement will unlock. If you have to slow down in the turn because you’re not at 2000 yet, make sure you don’t go under 80 mph or you will have to start again.

Currently there is a glitch that will allow you jump and fall through a bottomless floor, unlocking this achievement and "Jacked Jumper" in the process. Video and map location included below.

  • Reach 200 points for one Jump in "Joe's Adventures."

This is best done after the mission "Bet on That" because you get the Delizia Grandeamerica, which is the best car when fully upgraded. There are several places where it is possible to jump on a big ramp. One of them is located near the cars you have to destroy in the second mission, "Going Out of Business", in the industrial zone of Millville north. Approach the ramp from the north at approximately 100 mph, release right trigger when you hit the ramp, you should get more than 200 points when landing and the achievement will unlock when it registers. It may take several tries because it happens very often that the score action turns from jump to velocity or drift upon landing so no achievement. You may need to break slightly before the ramp to break your velocity score, and you may need to be closer to 120mph than 100mph when you hit the ramp.

See "Hypersonic" for a video with an alternative process to complete this achievement.

  • Finish the Cathouse level in "Joe's Adventures."

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

A gun fight will start right after a cutscene at the beginning of the mission. Just make your way out of the building and kill anything hostile that stands in your way. When you reach the main entrance a short cutscene will play and the achievement will unlock after.

  • Finish Joe's Adventures on any difficulty.

*This will unlock through natural story progression*

This is it, the last mission, which is right after the Cathouse level. You chase Rocco in the same building under construction as in the main game with Vito. Don’t rush and take your time going up and kill any enemies you come across. On the last floor, the enemies will be harder to kill and some will rush at you so be prepared. When you reach Rocco a short cutscene will start and the achievement will unlock after.
