Introduction:
Mortal Kombat 1 is a reboot of the series’ canon. Liu Kang is a god, and he has decided to rewrite history and try to make things better. This being a Mortal Kombat game, however, things are better off when they’re not better, because that means that we get to rip spines out. There is a story campaign here, along with a slew of other modes. The achievement list is long and varied, spread across multiple modes. The list isn’t too tough, but you’ll want to take things methodically, and keep an eye out for some of the sneakier achievements.

Step 1 - Complete the training and play through the main story:
This will give you a good grounding in Mortal Kombat 1, so you will get the hang of its mechanics and also experience the story, which is cool. You will unlock Become A Ninja In No Time (15G), A New Timeline (30G), and What Just Happened?? (50G). Plus, if you're a little wily, then you can also grab Who Was That??? (30G), by replaying Chapter 15.

Step 2 - Play through Invasions Mode:
This mode allows you to hoover up a trove of achievements. You will get a slew of them without really trying – achievements such as It Has Begun!!! (15G), Test Your Might (15G), and Adventure Time (15G) are all basically unmissable in Invasions mode. You will also unlcok Test Your Might (15G) without really trying, and you will almost certainly grab Where’s Blanche (15G) and Take And Deny (15G), too. Plus you will start building toward unlocking more long-game achievements, like Beaten And Broken (15G) and Titan (15G), as well.

Achievements like Ultimate Power (15G) and So Krafty (15G) you will unlock without really trying, as they both involve very basic aspects of Invasions Mode. As you work way toward finishing an Invasions Season, you will naturally unlock Feeling Stronger (10G), Unstoppable (15G), and Juggernaut (30G), as you climb through the levels. And you will unlock Not So Big Now, Are You?? (15G), Who Da Boss?? (15G), and Vanquished (30G) by the time you actually complete a Season.

Step 3 - Play through Tower Mode, Go Online, and Mop-Up:
By going through tower Mode, you can work your way through toward the end of the list. Achievement such as Thank You For Being A Fan!!! (30G), Happy Endings (30G) are fairly easy and straightforward to unlock – the latter helped by the fact that you can set the difficulty to Very Easy and power on through. Puppet Master (15G) as well, will only take you a short while. You can also work your way toward slightly more challening achievements, like High Score, Is That Good? (30G) while also passively working toward other, longer-term achievements, like Rollin’ With My Krew (30G).

Then, jump into the online mode and start playing matches against your fellow-Kombatants across the world. You will be able to unlock Kontender (15G) and Making Friends Is Easy (15G) without any trouble. And achievements like King Slayer (30G) and Buddy System (15G) can be gotten here – through eather sneaky means or through honest slogging. During the mop-up phase, go after achievements like Deadly Assassin (30G), Eye Of The TaiGore (15G), and Annihilation (15G), and the 1000gs.png will be well within your reach.

Well, when Titan Battles are added to the game, and you are able to unlock The Mighty Have Fallen (15G), then the 1000gs.png will be within your reach.

Conclusion:
Outdoing previous Mortal Kombats in the gore stakes, and boasting a slew of meaningful and genuinely exciting single-player content, alongside the usual online offerings, Mortal Kombat 1 outstrips previous efforts, delivering one of the finest fighting games money can buy.

There are 50 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Komplete The Basic Tutorial

This achievement is an easy achievement to unlock. From the main menu, head into the tutorial. The game will show you the ropes – blocking, basic attacks, movement, combos, the Kameo system. It's a good idea to get this done anyway, just to get a good grounding in the game. The tutorial will only take you ten minutes.
  • Spend A Total Of 1 Hour In Practice

Practice mode is, as it sounds, a mode where you practice. All you need to do to unlock this achievement is start a practice session against an A.I. opponent, and then leave your controller plugged in for an hour. Maybe go and have a nice hot bath, with some Radox? Or you could, you know, actually practice fighting for an hour. Whichever works for you!
  • Komplete 50% Of Story Mode

The story mode in Mortal Kombat 1 is one of the coolest things about it. You should make it the first thing you do in the game. Not only will this give you a good grounding in the game’s new fiction, and in its fighting mechanics, but it will also unlock you a few achievement, including this one, for getting half-way through, and also What Just Happened?? (50G), for completing it – or Kompleting it, I should say.
  • Komplete 100% Of Story Mode

  • Komplete Chapter 15 Twice

Once you have finished the Story mode, you can load of chapter 15 in the chapter selectand play through it again. The best thing to do is to pick a different character for this second run, so you can see more cutscenes. If you were Reptile in the first run, then maybe pick Smoke for the second? Either way, this achievement will unlock once you finish the chapter.
  • Titan

    15

    Deal 10,000 Damage To Opponents

You can’t unlock this achievement by playing through the story mode, unfortunately. So get yourself into the Invasions mode or simply play a good string of classic fights. You should unlock this one in around five to ten matches.
  • Spill 5,000 Pints Of Blood

This one is like a more extreme version of Titan (15G), in that it will take many more fights to unlock. Unfortunately for all you speedsters, Story mode doesn’t count for unlocking this achievement. So busy yourself with Invasions or classic matches. It will likely unlock after fifty or so fights.
  • Komplete Cage Mansion Tutorial

This achievement is part of the Invasions mode, and Cage Mansion is the first area in that mode. All you need to do is fight your way through the mansion and then exit through the portal at the end. You will then unlock this achievement.
  • Play 5 Kombat League Sets

This achievement isn’t too difficult to unlock, because you can unlock it by losing terribly. A Kombat League Set is an online ranked match, best of five format, against a single opponent. Play three of these – so a total of fifteen rounds – and you will unlock this achievement.
  • Perform 20 Different Fatalities

You can unlock this achievement naturally, just by playing a string of matches and capping off your victories by performing a fatality. Or, in the interests of pure speed, you can head into the tutorial section, on the main menu, and select the option to learn Fatalities. Here you can play around – with an unlimited timer, if you wish – and experiment with lots of characters’ Fatalities. Perform twenty of them, and this achievement will unlock.
  • Perform 10 Different Brutalities

The easiest way to unlock this achievement is by performing the Klassic Brutality with ten different characters. This is where you cap off the final round with an uppercut (dpad-down.png + button-y.png), but you keep button-y.png held down. You don’t wait until you see the “Finish Them” to perform this. You can also perform different brutalities with fewer characters; it’s your call.
  • Perform 10 Different Kameo Fatalities

As is the case with Deadly Assassin (30G), you can unlock this one by heading into the tutorial mode and learning about Fatalities. Each Kameo fighter has their own Kameo Fatality, so you can switch characters and try different ones out. Again, set the timer to unlimited, so you have as much as you need to play around.
  • Use 10 Different Kameo Characters

All you need to do to unlock this achievement is switch your Kameo fighter in ten different matches. You can do this in any of the modes, so it won’t take you on to unlock this one. Go for ten online matches or ten matches against the computer. Easy!
  • Komplete A Klassic Tower With 5 Different Characters

In Tower Mode, play the first, Novice, tower. There are only six opponents to face, and if you want to unlock this achievement asquickly and easily as possible, set the difficulty to Very Easy, and breeze through it with five different characters. See also Happy Endings (30G).
  • Spend 10,000 Koins On The Shrine

This achievement is pretty easy to unlock, because you get quite a lot of Koins for doing quite a lot of things in Mortal Kombat 1. The unlocks in the Shrine are 1,000 each, so you just need to unlock ten things there. You do, however, have to do it in one sitting for this achievement to unlock. So make sure you have enough to splurge – you most likely will!
  • Komplete 5 Unique Test Your Might Encounters

The best way to unlock this achievement is by playing Invasions mode. There are numerous Test Your Might minigames, and they are signified as little blips on the floor. You have to mash the face buttons (I just pick one and hammer it as fast as I can), and then, when you fill the meter past the little line, you have to press rt.png. After you have completed five of these, the achievement will unlock.
  • Komplete 5 Unique Encounters

  • Komplete 25 Unique Encounters

You can’t miss this achievement if you play Invasions mode. The Encounters are the dots on the floor that you run into. And each one could be a Fight, a Survival Challenge, a Test Your Might, or an Ambush. You just need to step on 25 of these dots, and you will unlock this achievement.
  • Dethrone A King

To unlock this achievement, you have to beat the King in a King of the Hill online match. On the main menu, head into versus, then online, then Kasual, and then select King of the Hill. The easiest way to unlock this achievement is to set up a private King of the Hill match with a friend – or, sneakier still, with a second console.

Whoever hosts the match will be the King, and the player joining will have to defeat them. It only takes a single match, so this one shouldn't take long. Barring any sneaky tactics, you can simply try your luck, and your skills, online and try and unlock this the old-fashioned way.
  • Komplete Mastery With 1 Kameo Character

  • Komplete Mastery With 5 Kameo Characters

This is a long and grindy achievement to unlock. Your Kameo character is your support character – those ones that pop up and do some damage on your behalf, tag team-style. You need to upgrade your Kameo fighter to Rank 15, in order to reach Komplete Mastery.

This is done most easily by finishing your matches with a Brutality (see Karnage (15G) for more info on how to do these). This way, you get more XP for your Kameo character. This will almost certainly be the last achievement that you unlock, even if you keep this in mind as you play through the list. It's just that grindy.
  • Trade For An Item From An Outworld Shop

In the Invasions mode, Outworld shops can be found; they look just like the shops in Earthrealm, only they're run by Outworlders, like four-armed folks and the like. All you need to do to unlock this achievement is buy a single item from one of these shops.
  • Trade For An Item From An Earthrealm Shop

As is the case with Where’s Blanche (15G), you will encounter Earthrealm shops in Invasions mode. All you need to do to unlock this achievement is buy one item from an Earthrealm shop. For reference, there is always an Earthrealm shop in the  Gateway Portal – the floating island.
  • Use A Talisman

You will unlock this achievement in Invasions mode, as that is where Talismans are unlocked and used. You will unlock your first Talisman after a few encounters in Invasions mode, when you complete the Demon Lady encounter. The game will then give you a tutorial on how to use the Talisman – you can shoot projectiles with the right stick 1RSLeft.gif and 1RSRight.gif. This achievement will unlock during that tutorial.
  • Use A Talisman 10 Times

  • Recharge A Talisman

When you have gone Talisman-mad and shot many a projectile at your foes, it will eventually run out of juice. When it does, take it to the Forge and hit the “Recharge Talisman” option. This achievement will then unlock.
  • Forge A Talisman

You get to the Forge, in Invasions mode, in Johnny Cage's Mansion. By the time you get here, you will already the components you need to forge a Talisman. Talk to the Forge NPC, select “Upgrade Talisman,” then select your Talisman and add a Krafting component to upgrade it. Press the Options button to activate this upgrade, and the achievement will unlock.
  • Reach Invasions Level 5

  • Reach Invasions Level 10

  • Reach Invasions Level 20

You don’t really need to worry about this one. If you play the Invasion mode, which you will need to do for Vanquished (30G), then you will unlock this achievement without really trying. If you play the mode for around five or so hours, you will naturally hoover up enough XP to reach Level 20. If you want to speed the process up, then you can buy items from shops that will boost your XP, and you can also wear the “Not Junk” Relic, which grants you a +15% XP boost. You unlock that Relic in the tutorial in Cage's mansion.
  • Defeat A Mini Boss In Invasions

You can't miss this achievement if you're playing the Invasions mode. Some of the Encounters that you will trigger in Invasions will be Mini Bosses. They don't look much different to regular enemies, but they have a few irritating boosts that make them much tougher opponents. You will meet many of these on your way to unlocking Juggernaut (30G).
  • Defeat A Major Boss In Invasions

You can't miss this achievement if you're playing the Invasions mode, and if you're going after Juggernaut (30G). Major bosses are the ones that you meet at the end of worlds – or Mesas, as they're called. You will meet your first Major Boss after the tutorial area of Johnny Cage's Mansion.
  • Defeat The Final Boss Of An Invasions Season

In order to defeat the Final Boss of an Invasions season, you need to play through all the worlds (or Mesas) of that season. This takes about 8 or 9 hours, and the last season has the Season Endboss. The seasons change and reset every 50 days, and this will actually wipe your Invasions Season progress. If you press button-y.png, you will be able to check the time you have left until the next reset.
  • Equip A Relic

  • Equip 3 Different Relics

In Invasions mode, you earn relics by completing Encounters. You can also find them chests and buy them from shops. Once you have three relics, you can equip them (provided you have the right stats) by pressing button-y.png while exploring, clicking on the Relics menu, and then pressing button-a.png to equip your desired Relic. Equip three relics, and this achievement will unlock.
  • Komplete A Titan Battle

    **NOT YET OBTAINABLE**

Titan battles have, apparently, not been added to Mortal Kombat 1 yet. They are going to be added, and this achievement will be unlockable once they are, but for now the 100% is only theoretically within your reach.
  • Use A Key

In Invasions mode, you will gain keys are you successfully complete matches. All you need to do to unlock this achievement is use one of these keys to open a door. You will unlock this early in Invasions mode, in Cage's Mansion. It's unmissable if you play this mode.
  • Komplete A Survival Encounter

You come across Survival Encounters in Invasions mode, and they're basically minigames that have you avoiding certain perils. It's kind of a like a quick-time event, but you're in more control. There is a Survival Encounter in Invsaion mode early on, in Cage Mansion, which has you jumping and ducking to avoid incoming energy balls. You will unlock this achievement once you have successfully finished the encounter.
  • Klear An Obstruction In Invasions

In Invasions mode, you will encounter obstacles in your path as you explore. In order to get rid of the blockage, you eneed to complete the Encounters that pop up around it. One of them will clear it out. This achievement is pretty much unmissable if you’re playing through Invasions mode.
  • Unlock A Secret Fight

In Invasions mode, you will come across Secret Fights randomly. They activate after you have just fought a regular fight, and there isn't any particular thing you have to do to trigger them. Play a chunk of Invasions mode, and you will unlock this achievement in no time.
  • Survive An Ambush

In Invasions mode, you will get ambushed periodically. It's basically a surprise enemy encounter. All you need to do is defeat this attacker, and you will unlock this achievement. These ambushes are random, however, so you will need to do your fair share of running around in Invasions mode, waiting to be ambushed.
  • Komplete 3 Daily Quests

When you’re on the main menu, press button-menu.png and go into the Quests menu. In here you can see all the daily and weekly quests that are available to you. There are five quests a day, so you can focus on three of them, and you can likely complete them while you're going after other achievements. They are often challenges such as spending a certain amount of Koins at the Shrine, or performing a certain number of Fatalities in that day. Chances are, you may even have done three daily quests without even trying or noticing!
  • Komplete A Weekly Quest

When you’re on the main menu, press button-menu.png and go into the Quests menu. In here you can see all the daily and weekly quests that are available to you. These range in objectives, but a typical quest will be something like: deal 10,000 damage in a week. You can unlock this achievement fairly quickly.
  • Obtain A Total Score Of 5,000,000 In Gateway Towers

Find a Daily Tower with at least three floors but preferably five, and with no modifiers. However, before you enter the Tower, go to Fengjian Village and stand a low-level node. Then go back to Gateway Island, and you will see that the level of the Tower will have dropped. This will let you decimate your enemies in one or two hits. The best strategy here is to go for Klassic Brutality move (see Karnage (15G)), on as many opponents as possible. You should come away with over 5,000,000.
  • You get a lot of items in Invasions Mode, and a lot of them are just used once and then tossed aside. These can be bought from shops, and they can also be found in chests, and dropped by defeated foes.As you're exploring, press button-x.png to select a single-use item. You can only carry five at a time, so use one just before an encounter, and then repeat that process until you have used ten, and this achievement will unlock.
  • Unlock 10 Tower Endings

The easiest and quickest way to unlock this achievement is to go into the first Tower, which is a Novice tower, and set your difficulty to Very Easy. There are only six opponents in this tower, so it won't take you long to complete it with ten different characters.
  • Spend 10,000 Seasonal Kredits

In order to spend your Seasonal Kurrency, you need to go to the main menu and press Options. From there you can head into the Store, down at the bottom-right of the screen. Go into the Seasonal Items category, and then spend 10,000 of your Seasonal Kurrency – this is the silver money, which you accrue for doing daily and weekly challenges.
  • Perform A Taunt Without Being Interrupted During An Online Match

To perform a taunt, you need to press dpad-down.png four times. In order to unlock this achievement, you need to perform a taunt against someone in Versus Online; it can be any kind of match. You also can't be interrupted, so your best bet is to knock your opponent down – try uppercutting them and then immediately taunting. That way, they have to fly through the air, land, and then get back up and chase you down.
  • Watch The Kredits

You unlock the Kredits by finishing a Tower for the first time. To unlock this achievement, you have to watch them all the way to the end without skipping. If you accidentally skipped the credits, fear not: you can watch them from the main menu, by going into Extras, then Kollection, then Movies, and then Kredits. If you’re not interested in who made this game, just go and make a cup of tea or something.
  • Change Your Kombat Kard Player Module

When you're on the main menu, press button-menu.png and then button-y.png, and you will be able to edit your online card. Called your Kombat Kard, this is how other players identify you when you you're online. All you need to do to unlock this achievement is change your card's Foreground or Background. You can unlock a new Foreground by reaching level 1 with any character.
