Introduction:
Welcome to RoboCop: Rogue City, a first person shooter where you take on the role of RoboCop at a time when the entire city is in chaos and gangs are running amok thanks to a New Guy In Town who's looking for somewhere to spend all of his money. This game and its layout/progression reminded me a lot of Deus Ex with how the missions work. Basically, you get sent out to a new area to complete a new main mission. These are quite long, and along the way in that area, you'll encounter various opportunities for side missions that are isolated to that area. After each main mission, you return to the Police Department, which acts as a hub area. Unlike Deus Ex, there are no stealth options in this game (considering you're a hulking robot), but there are dialogue options that you can use to your advantage, adding some role-playing aspects to this game. Achievement-wise, there are a bunch of story achievements, but the rest are essentially chapter-specific achievements, with only a few being random miscellaneous achievements. It's a relatively easy list. Let's get started.

Note on Skill Point Allocation:
While there are technically no missable achievements, there are a few tied to skill point allocation that you should be aware of so you can plan accordingly.

  • May Be Used Against You (15G) requires you to hack a turret. There are only two opportunities to do this, and they're both in late-game main missions. To do so, you need 6 skill points in Engineering. Personally, I found this to be a good investment anyway, because increasing Engineering made the chips installed on the motherboard give higher increases to each stat. However, if you for some reason don't want to spend skill points here, make sure you have enough saved up by the time you reach the main mission "Cyber Trail," as that's the first and easiest place to get that achievement.
  • Practice Makes Perfect (30G) requires you to max out any stat with 10 skill points. Even if you did ever single thing in the game, you would get around 70 skill points total, although most people will likely fall in the 40-50 range. With ten different stats available, you could potentially spend your skill points in such a way that they're distributed evenly and none is maxed. Keep this in mind. If you do prefer to spread evenly, just save up a handful of skill points, spend them to max a skill, then pause and reload your last checkpoint to get your points back. I should note that for most people, this will happen naturally. I personally maxed out Combat, Armor, Vitality, and Engineering to maximize my damage output and my ability to tank damage.
  • There Can Only Be One (30G) doesn't directly require any skill point allocation, but especially if you're playing on any difficulty other than Easy, this achievement can be tough. This achievement takes place around two thirds of the way through the game, and sees you fighting off waves of robot enemies that not only can do a lot of damage but take a lot of damage to destroy. Personally, I had Combat and Armor at 8/10 skill points each, plus 6/10 in Engineering, and I had no problems defeating enemies fast enough, but I was still using Recovery Charges regularly to stay alive. If you get to that point and, for example, have spent most of your skill points on things like Focus, Perception, Deduction, etc., they won't help in that battle, and you'll likely find yourself struggling immensely with that battle at all, let alone the achievement. Keep this is mind as you allocate skill points throughout your playthrough.
If you miss any of these and need to change skill point allocation, the only option I'm aware of is to load into an earlier chapter via Chapter Select, and you'll start with the exact setup you had when you reached that point in the game (for example, if you had 5 unused skill points and 10 spent when you beat the fourth mission, that's exactly what you'll have when you load into the fifth mission with Chapter Select). This could potentially require you to replay portions of the game if you need to reallocate skills leading up to a mission. If you're playing on Easy, this won't be as much of a deal. For example, I always kept 5-10 unspent skill points on me just in case I ran into a situation where I needed them allocated somewhere. In reality, all you really need for achievements is 6 in Engineering, max out one (preferably one of the first four), and keep investing in those first four throughout so you're set for the last achievement noted above.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
As noted above, this game has a ton of miscellaneous and/or chapter-specific achievements. That's the main thing to be aware of as you progress. Before that though, a couple things to point out relative to the gameplay and such:

  • There are actually no achievements tied to any side missions, and they aren't required for any achievements. The only benefit of doing side missions is that they give you a pretty pathetic amount of XP, but then count toward more XP at the conclusion of each main mission when your performance is reviewed. Therefore, you can feel free to skip most side missions if you just want this completion
  • Similarly, there are a ton of pickups throughout the game that count as "crime evidence," such as Incriminating Photos, Nuke, Stolen Wallet/Jewelry/Handbag, etc. These things all pop up with some amount they reward you with, but this is NOT XP, unfortunately/annoyingly. I'm not entirely sure what those points are or whatever it is that pops up when you pick these up, but all these seem to do is contribute to your evalution at the end of each main mission, where you'll get extra XP for crime evidence you've collected. It seemed to me that, no matter how much crime evidence I collected, the most I could get was 500 XP. So, again, if you're not worried about getting tons of XP, you can ignore all these little pickups that are all over the place. I definitely don't recommend wasting time seeking them out, but grab them if you see them for some easy extra XP at the end of a mission
  • There are another type of collectiles that do give you XP outright. These are things such as papers and documents that you can scan or read. These aren't required for any achievements, but they do at least give you immediate XP
If you decide you want to collect as many of these things as possible because you want the XP or want to do as much content as you can, I found THIS STEAM GUIDE to be the only available resource. It doesn't tell you where everything is but it helps track down scannable objects for XP, secrets, safe codes, etc.

On to the miscellaneous achievements. Here's a rundown of what to get in which chapter, and in what order:

Breaking News (first mission/tutorial)
Zip This Up (10G) (first of endless opportunities)
Strikeout! (15G) (first of many opportunities)
Officer of the month (30G) (first and easiest opportunity

Police Station (first visit, but will visit between every main mission)
Dead-On (15G), "This Guy Is Really Good" (30G), and SuperCop (90G) (first opportunity, but I don't recommend doing it until after the third main mission, "Street Vulture's Turf"

In Search of Soot/Soot's Final Encore (second mission consisting of two main quests)
Uphold the Law (15G)
Hard Boiled (30G)
I'd Buy That For a Dollar! (15G)
No stone unturned (15G)
Nukem! (15G)
 (first and easy opportunity)

Street Vulture's Turf (third mission)
Live by the bike... (15G)
Good eyes, Murphy! (30G)

 - No achievements for multiple main missions here -

Silver Linings/ Let's Talk (around four main missions later)
There Can Only Be One (30G)

Cyber Trail/The Man Himself (multi-part main mission)
A Real Hero (15G)
May Be Used Against You (15G)

Hard Boiled (30G) (second opportunity)

By the time you get to the "The Man Himself" main mission, you should be done with all miscellaneous achievements and just have story ones left. If you missed any, you can load into chapters from the main menu to mop up whatever you missed.

Conclusion:
RoboCop has a surprising amount of content. The achievements don't reflect this, since you can blow through the entire game without paying attention to any side missions, secrets, hidden areas, optional objectives, etc., but you'd be doing yourself a disservice in ignoring all of that. There are tons of side stories to follow along with, any many tie into results in the main missions. You also can get multiple different ending cutscenes depending on who you supported, who you became friends with, etc. While it starts off feeling like a relatively generic FPS game, it quickly turns into a really enjoyable experience with tons of RPG elements. There's way more to do here than what this guide provides, so I encourage you to explore all there is. Congrats on the completion!

There are 27 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Find a secret area in the Arcade.

This achievement takes place during the second main mission, "In Search of Soot," when you're in the Downtown area at the start of the mission and tasked with going to the Arcade.

The Arcade is a separate linear mini area within this mission, and it has you tracking the Arcade owner to his office at the end of the area. Once you reach his office and talk to him, you'll finish this part of the mission and be in his office. This is when you can find and access the secret area. Go to the side of his desk nearest the wall, and there is a small button you can scan. Once scanned, you can press it to open a secret room. That unlocks this achievement. The Secret room itself is back out the office and on your right, in the back corner of the room. See my clip below.

  • Shoot an enemy in a sensitive spot.

This achievement requires you to simply shoot an enemy in the groin. While you could try to do this on a living enemy to take them down, this achievement actually unlocks even if you do this on a dead enemy. It's therefore far easier to just kill an enemy, then walk up to their corpse and shoot them in the crotch until this achievement unlocks. See my clip below, which unlocked the achievement for me. I did this literally right at the start of a new game.

  • Find a PCB for Auto-9 in a secret area of Steel Mill.

This achievement takes place in the third main mission, "Street Vulture's Turf," which sends you to a single large area.

It'll take most of the mission before you access the northern part of this map. Once you get there, you'll reach an area that looks like a scrapyard, covered in trash, and mines all over the ground. Off to the right path, there is a yellow train there that you need to do. If you have 6 points in Engineering, you can simply interact with the train to move it. If not, and you don't want to spend the skill points (or don't have them), there is a manual you can scan to give you the knowledge to move the train without Engineering points. If you have the side mission to destroy the drug stash, this manual is located right across from the door leading to this mission. It's just north of the train, down in a trench. There is a door you enter to follow the side mission for destroying the drug stash. With your back to that door, walk straight ahead to the end of the trench and enter the small room on your right. Scan the manual on top of the barrel, and now you can interact with the train without spending skill points. See video below of the manual. Full credit to the creator of the video.

Once you move the train, follow it. When it stops, climb up the ladder on its side, turn around, cross the plank, and in this small room you'll find a PCB that unlocks this achievement.
  • Shoot the gas tank of a moving motorcycle.

Throughout the game, starting with the third main mission, "Street Vulture's Turf," you'll fight against bikers driving around on motorcycles. This achievement requires you to do as the description says, and it must be a moving motorcyle (not only lying on the ground after you kill the driver).

I found this to be a bit of a pain to hit. I also didn't invest any points in Focus, which I'm sure would've made it easier, but basically the gas tank is at the "underbelly" position, for lack of a better comparison, on the bike. It'll likely take a bunch of shots, but keep fire focused on the bike rather than the driver to blow it up and unlock this achievement. See clip below.

  • Eliminate an enemy using a throwable object.

Throughout the game there are tons of throwable objects, especially indoors in various locations. The most common ones are computer monitors and chairs. When you near them, you can press button-x.png to pick them up, then rb.png to throw them. They're a one-hit kill, to my knowledge. Simply throw anything at any enemy to kill them and unlock this. I did it in the first mission, on the top floor with all the computer monitors, but you can do this in virtually every single mission throughout the game.

  • Score 150 points at the shooting range.

Refer to SuperCop (90G) for more information.
  • Score 200 points at the shooting range.

Refer to SuperCop (90G) for more information.
  • Score 250 points at the shooting range.

You'll be introduced to the shooting range after finishing the first main mission, when you're back at the police station. You return to the police station between every single main mission. While you can certainly attempt to score 250 points on your first visit to the police station, and it is possible, it's significantly harder than it needs to be, so I don't recommend even attempting it.

Wait until you get PCB motherboards. In particular, one you can get in the third main mission, "Street" Vulture's Turf," is the first one you can get that eliminates the need to reload. That ability, which is present on a couple different PCB motherboards you'll find throughout the game, is the best thing in the game, and what makes the shooting range a piece of cake.

With the ability received for no reloads, you can now tear through the shooting range. For the first wave, feel free to aim for headshots to get points, but it's not necessary. The second wave, headshots are still possible, but it's time to stop bothering with them. I actually just hip fired toward the targets, holding rt.png the entire time, and it would tear through them, getting multiple shots per target. You'll see you can easily shoot past the 250-point mark. See my clip below where I'm just hip hiring at targets and have no issues.

    https://www.xbox.com/play/media/pzuMUzhXcL
  • Save a cat from the Burning Hotel.

This achievement takes place in the main mission "Cyber Trail."

Right in the beginning of this mission, you'll head into apartments to talk to Dr Blanche. After this conversation, you'll need to escape the burning building with her. Follow the objective markers, clearing out enemies along the way. After going down three floors, the objective marker will take you to a wall of fire, and the objective will change to finding another way out. Right here is where the cat is. On your left are two apartment doors, and the door nearest the fire can be interacted with. This releases the cat and unlocks the achievement.
  • Score "A" on any evaluation.

At the end of every main mission, you'll either automatically end up in your caged room in the police station or you'll be told to head there. You'll then get scored on your performance for the mission. You score is based on:

    • Completing all main missions (no way to avoid this)
    • Completing each side mission
    • Collecting crime evidence (this is the Incriminating Documents, Stolen Wallets, etc., that you find all over the place)
    • Discovering secrets
    • Doing optional objectives
At the end of each mission, you'll be shown a tally of these items and then be given a score. For this achievement, you need to get an 'A' on any of these.

Personally, I got an 'A' on the first two missions with no guide and without trying. The first mission is by far the easiest, since there are no side missions. I posted a clip below showing my rating for the first mission.

    https://www.xbox.com/play/media/n29BiDqb7W

I have no idea what those two secrets are that I apparently found, but I'm going to guess that one was the person overdosing in the basement (since you can scan them), and the other was the stash of anti-depressants I found later on, on the top floor, right before you do your first breach. You can see the optional objectives there to save the hostages in each of the two breaches. I failed the second one (I saw one hostage get shot) and still got an 'A' rating, as you can see in the clip, so you don't need to be perfect. But, if you're concerned you missed something else or didn't find enough crime evidence, you can reload your checkpoint if a hostage dies to ensure you complete both of those objectives.
  • Nukem!

    15

Eliminate 3 enemies with 1 explosive.

This achievement is pretty situational, especially since you don't have any of your own explosives. Your only options are:

    • Shooting an explosive container (they glow green when ADS)
    • Throwing something explosive
    • Grabbing a grenade launcher during missions with enemies that use them
My experience is that explosive containers are your best option, and they show up quite frequently, especially during indoor mission areas. Since you'll likely be ADS continually during fights, you'll see these highlighted often. I also find it's best to shoot them all the time anyway, because they make it so much faster and easier to wipe out enemies. If you're shooting explosives throughout gun fights and missions, you'll likely unlock this naturally. I personally got it during the second main mission, "Soot's Final Encore," while pushing through the building to find him. Clip below.

    https://www.xbox.com/play/media/KsRUWvXgTH
  • Issue a ticket.

To my knowledge, this can only be done during any of the three times you're in the Downtown map. Each time, if you pause, you'll see you have a side objective called 'Serve and Protect' to take care of little crimes. Some of these are simple crimes where you can choose to either give a warning or issue a ticket. For this achievement, you obviously need to choose to issue a ticket.

The first and simplest opportunity is right at the start of the second main mission, "In Search of Soot," when you're Downtown. Head to the big obvious movie theater, and there is a car parked in front of it at an expired meter. Scan the meter to see it's expired, then look at the windshield of the car and interact to issue a ticket. See my clip below.

    https://www.xbox.com/play/media/DAvhQrtmZG
  • Hack an enemy turret.

Note that hacking an enemy turret requires 6 skill points in Engineering. Read that section of the roadmap for more information on skill point allocation.

To my knowledge, there are only two opportunities to hack an enemy turret.

The first and easiest is during the main mission "Cyber Trail," which is around three quarters of the way through the game. During this mission, you'll proceed into the sewers from Downtown. As you progress, you'll encounter your first turret, which you'll need to destroy. Immediately after it is another turret, and off to the left side in an alcove is a computer you can interact with to hack the turret (as long as you have 6 points in Engineering). Sprint over to it and hack it. See my clip below.

    https://www.xbox.com/play/media/vyBEvfrMzJ

The only other place I've seen the option to hack a turret is during the penultimate main mission, when you're chasing Wendal through his new town. This is tougher though because if you shoot and destroy the turret by accident during the gun fight, you can't hack it. Use the spot shown above and make sure you don't shoot the turret before hacking it.
  • All Old Factory hostiles neutralized in under 10 min.

This is probably the toughest achievement in the game (relatively) because you'll essentially either need to be on Easy difficulty or you'll need to invest most of your skill points in Combat, Armor, and Engineering to maximize damage output.

This achievement takes place around two thirds of the way through the game. You'll get the "Silver Linings" main mission where you go to the Hospital for the second time. Immediately after your second hospital visit, you'll get told to meet Max Becker. That's where this achievement takes place. You'll have to fight off four or five waves of robot enemies, and destroy them all in under 10 minutes. If done successfully, this achievement will unlock as soon as the final robot is destroyed.

Speaking from my experience, I played on Easy and by the time I reached this fight I had 8 points in Combat, 8 in Armor, 2 in Vitality, and 6 in Engineering. I didn't use a timer, but I'm going to estimate that it took me 7ish minutes. I had no problems tearing through enemies relatively quickly. Surviving without losing health is another story. I used my Recovery Charges often, and between waves ran around looking for more. There are also tons of explosives to shoot or mines to throw to help speed this up, but for most enemies, especially ones on catwalks, it's more effective to just shoot them. Below I have a clip of me finishing off the last wave, just to see what it's like. All I did was tank the damage the entire time, standing in the thick of things, trying to be a bit behind cover, and just going from enemy to enemy gunning them down.

    https://www.xbox.com/play/media/HveUztXQ3v
  • Equip Auto-9's PCB with any chip.

This is very nearly story related. You'll be given your first PCB chip after the second main mission, and if you pause and tab over to the PCB tab, it'll let you put chips on the various nodes of your motherboard, with each one increasing that stat by some percentage. The chips themselves, to my knowledge, only come from OCP crates. There are tons of these throughout the game, and you'll assuredly find many without trying. However, the Steam guide linked in the roadmap notes the locations of tons of OCP crates. Once you have just a single chip, add it to your motherboard to unlock this achievement, which you'll likely do immediately after getting your first motherboard.
  • Find an OCP skill disk.

OCP skill disks are a sort-of collectible that, when found, immediately give you a skill point. They're rare, and found typically tucked away near side objectives. The first one I found was in the Downtown area during the second main mission, "In Search of Soot," during the side mission "Stolen Vehicle." Inside the chop shop that this side mission takes you to, there's a room right by the garage door with an OCP skill disk. Clip below.

    https://www.xbox.com/play/media/6LDYwYKeCx

I found easily another five or so during my time with this game, so you'll likely find more, but the Steam guide linked in the roadmap also notes locations of these skill disks.
  • Fully develop any skill.

This achievement requires you to invest 10 skill points into any skill to max it out. While not technically missable, it could require you to replay multiple main and side missions if you don't make it a point to do this.

If you're just going for achievements and to make the game easiest, you'll likely be maxing out Combat, Armor, Engineering, and maybe even Vitality. I personally maxed out all four of those, but I didn't put any points in any others except Deduction.

Alternatively, you can save up skill points until you have enough to max a skill, then max that skill, then reload your checkpoint to get all skill points back so you can spend them how you want.

If you play through the entire game and don't max a skill, you can use chapter select to reload an earlier chapter and you'll have whatever skill points you had at that point. You then need to play from there to get more skill points to max a skill. It can be a pain, so get this out of the way along the way.
  • Help officers Kurtz and O'Neal solve a murder case.

There are two opportunities for this achievement, to my knowledge:

In the second main mission, "In Search of Soot," you'll be in the Downtown area for the majority of the mission. At any point during this section, and before leaving Downtown in your squad car, you need to head to the northwest corner of the map near the docks. Look for the police lights flashing at the active crime scene. Talk to the detectives to start the side mission.

The second opportunity is during the "Cyber Trail" main mission toward the end of the game. During this mission, you'll head down to the sewers and eventually emerge on the other side. As soon as you're back in the Downtown area from the sewers, off to your right you can see the police lights at an active crime scene. Talk to the detectives there to start the side mission.

Regardless of which one you do, just follow the objective markers to complete either of these longer side missions. Once the complete the side mission, this achievement will unlock.

Secret achievements

  • Complete Breaking News quest.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

This is the short linear tutorial mission of sorts.
  • Complete Soot's Final Encore quest.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

This is a pretty long mission split into two parts, but other than that just follow the quest markers to run through the multiple areas this takes you through.
  • Complete Street Vulture's Turf quest.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

This is a long relatively linear mission in a single area. The main thing worth mentioning here is that you should make it a point to do the side mission for destroying the drug stash. There is a PCB motherboard at the end of the mission with a node that gives you auto reload, meaning infinite firing. With your regular pistol, you can just hold down the trigger and fire endlessly, making all future fights so much easier.
  • Complete Bank Heist quest.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

This is the shortest mission in the game, with just a long battle against enemies throughout the bank. If you're just plowing through, this will be quick and easy.
  • Complete Ghosts from The Past quest.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

This is just a series of linear main missions with nothing special to discuss.
  • Complete Wendell’s Confession quest.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

Nothing special to discuss here, as it's just a series of linear missions.

Note that this is the only practical spot in the game to unlock May Be Used Against You (15G) when you're in the sewers, so make sure you have 6 skill points in Engineering for this mission (or enough saved up).
  • Complete The Man Himself quest.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

This series of main missions isn't bad, but it does have another boss fight against one of those giant robots. I was able to destroy its rocket launching arm pretty quickly, and then the second arm too, and it literally just stood there for the last third of its health bar, unable to do anything. Everything else in this mission is straightforward.
  • Complete No Way Out quest.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

This is a pretty long series of story missions that are definitely the toughest in the game. In the beginning, you'll be a chaotic Downtown area dealing with riots and all kinds of fights. You'll have to fight another one of those big robot bosses on the streets, but the strategy is the same as the others. The main issue here to take note of is when you're dealing with the Vultures for that objective. Inside, you need to be extremely careful of explosives. There are explosive barrels everywhere, and one bullet in them kills you and you need to start over. Choose your shots very carefully to avoid shooting any barrels. After that, you have to disarm a bomb by cutting nine wires correctly in under a minute. I'm not sure if this is randomized or not, but I found the first set of three on the left to be the hardest to discern where the wires were going. I just did trial and error to find the right first one there. The other two sets of three are easier because, at least for me, the highest voltage wire was a different color from the other two, making that a quick first one to cut, and then it was easier to see where the other two went.
  • Complete the game on any difficulty level.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

After the previous mission, there is some epilogue-like dialogue, and then a final boss fight. It basically has two attacks: it either charges at you (which you can strafe or dash away from) or it just attempts to get close to you to grab you and damage you. Essentially, just keep your distance as best you can. The close up grabs were only doing like 10% damage to me, so they weren't bad at all, and I don't think I ever got caught by the charge attack. By now you should have a PCB motherboard that eliminates the need to reload. I just held down the trigger with my pistol, and aimed for his weak spot, which is a pretty obvious yellow circle on his chest. I didn't even bother to keep moving. Just keep unloading on him and move as necessary. There are two mid-fight cutscene, but the fight mechanics don't change at all. Once he's defeated, this achievement will unlock at the credits.
