Introduction:
Welcome to the newest Sometimes You stack. There is an Xbox One version and a Series S/X version for a total of 2000
. Nothing crazy to say about this game. See you in the Abbreviated Walkthrough. Here is a bit of info about the game. Don't forget if you buy the Xbox One version first then buy the Series S/X you will get a discount.
"Cybertrash STATYX is a tactical 2D action-platformer. Run, jump, slide, destroy enemies, gain experience points, upgrade your character – Jenet, who is trying to escape from the corporation.
In the distant future, the industrial part of the world has separated from nature and built its infrastructure through the activities of local corporations. Robots are used to control the population. All those who disagree with the dictatorship of corporations united in opposition. The corporate response keeps pace with technological progress, and the population is condemned to cyborgization.
People are abducted and modified by installing neural manipulators in various ways. Due to the limited resource of chips, the newly-minted cyborgs also take control of the unmodified population. Captured people have their memories erased and turned into cyborgs. The opposition is weakening.
As the main character, Janet, you plunge into the depths of events, trying to remember the past and escape from the clutches of the corporation. Uncover the conspiracy against humanity!" - xbox.com
Abbreviated Walkthrough:
First off there is a lot of dialogue in this game and the lowercase 't's in the game are a bit weird. You can skip a lot of the dialogue if you want to save some time if you're just in it for the completion.
The controls might be a little weird and not very precise but overall you should be okay. Use
to slide then hit
to jump higher. It is a bit weird but you will get used to it. There is an upgrade system but if playing on easy it really won't matter. I died a couple times in my first run but it won't matter too much. I would advise upgrading the Luck, which can make you dodge damage, and Hacking, which will allow you to get better weapons and be able to hack the crates for extra resources. You can also buy levels using the little squares (credits) you pick up. One level is 250 credits. You can also use the credits to buy hearts and more ammo during the levels. I ran into 3-4 of the ones that sell levels so they are spread out a bit. Not really a whole lot else to say, just make your way through the levels and all the achievements will unlock. Every few levels you will have a cut scene with two girls playing tag and hide 'n' seek, and you will get achievements for them also.
All of the guns aren't very good. I mainly used the infinite laser default gun and the heavy shotty-type gun when I could get it. Just experiment with the different ones and find one you like. You can switch between light and heavy guns with the
button. You can also shoot while sliding to hit enemies who are too low for your projectiles. I also mention this in the first boss achievement. I barely moved much and beat each boss pretty quickly on easy. So don't really worry too much; all the guns will kill the bosses easily. The game stocks you up with hearts and weapons before each boss fight. Just play through each level and all the achievements will be yours.
Mop-Up:
You only need one full run and all the achievements will unlock. This game most likely doesn't need a guide, but I know a lot of people like to know what they are getting into. So no real mop up is needed.
Conclusion:
Another easy Sometimes You stack. To do both versions it might take you 3-4 hours, so not bad for 2000
. You may die a couple times. Otherwise enjoy the pretty easy 2000
. Congrats to you.
