Introduction:
Welcome to Botany Manor, a stately home in 19th century England. You play as inhabitant Arabella Greene, a retired botanist. Explore your house and gardens, filled with research, to figure out the ideal habitat of forgotten flora. Grow each plant to discover the mysterious qualities they hold!

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
Botany Manor follows a simple structure broken into chapters, which progressively open up more of the manor to be explored and introduced progressively more complex puzzles. You can continue the game after completing it to mop up anything you miss. So depending on your choice, you can either play the game normally, then come back for mop up or follow this guide and the linked video to finish the game as efficiently as possible. Either way, all of the plants are required for story progression, so you should unlock all of the growing plant related achievements.

Mop-Up:
This will mostly consist of miscellaneous achievements, like Boom (20G), Help? (20G), or Take A Nap (20G). Additionally, if you didn't focus on the collectible ducks or Arabella's paintings, you'll want to backtrack to unlock Quack Quack Quack Quack! (60G) and Art Lover (20G). The entire manor is still accessible after completing the game, so you can't miss out on anything.

Conclusion:
Botany Manor is a gorgeous puzzle experience with lots of charm. A strong recommendation for puzzle game enthusiasts and any plant lovers, as it melds the two together so seemlessly. And it even comes packaged with a fast, but equally enjoyable, achievement list!

  • Grow the Windmill Wort

    Chapter 1

    Windmill Wort is the first plant you will grow. Fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and water it. Place the pot next to the heater on the opposite side of the room. Then turn the valve on the tank near the potting station to 60 degrees C and finally turn on the heater!

  • Grow the Fulguria

    Chapter 2

    To grow Fulguria: Fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and water it. Place the pot in front of the camera in the family room. Then mix two splashes of Potassium with one splash of Magnesium in the flask and put that into the camera. Close it and take the picture.

  • Grow the Ash Plume

    Chapter 2

    To grow Ash Plume: Fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and water it. Place the pot in the frying pan above the fire in the kitchen (unlocks Crack (20G)). Then put the pot in the Smokery. Grab an Oak Log and burn it in the Smokery.

  • Grow the Pixie Tears

    Chapter 3

    To grow Pixie Tears: Fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and water it. Place the pot under the apple press. Use the poster to find the Knobbly Russet, Cat's Head, and Merlin Mist apples. Crush all three in the press.

  • Grow the Wolfglove

    ​​​​Chapter 3

    To grow Wolfglove: Fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and water it. Place the pot in the old tower and use the lever to ride the elevator up. You need to open the windows in a specific way:
     
    • Floor 1 - Open right side
    • Floor 2 - Leave Closed
    • Floor 3 - Open both sides
    • Floor 4 - Open both sides

  • Grow the Sapphire Gloom

    Chapter 4

    To grow Sapphire Gloom: Fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and water it. Place the pot on the ground in the main entrance next to the rotting tree.

  • Grow the Nightfall

    Chapter 4

    To grow Nightfall: Fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and water it. Place the pot in front of the light projector in the attic. Take the slides from the box next to it and place them into the light projector in this order then turn it on:

    Blue - Yellow - Orange - Red

  • Grow the Brook Chalice

    Chapter 4

    To grow Brook Chalice: Fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and water it. Place the pot in the bathtub connected to the master bedroom. Reconnect the pipes with the red pipe pieces in the bathroom (unlocks Who needs a plumber? (20G)). Turn the temperature down to 25 degrees C on the tank next to the tub. Fill it with water. Then, grab the Rusty Pig from the table in the attic and add it to the bath.

  • Grow the Cradle Fern

    Chapter 4

    To grow Cradle Fern: Fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and water it. Place the pot in the bell tower next to the bells. Then ring the bells in this order:

  • Grow the Springdance Shrub

    Chapter 5

    To grow Springdance Shrub: Grab a Sandstone Pot from the gardener's supplies and fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and water it. Place the pot in the gardener's supplies area and add a splash of seaweed to turn it red. Then place the pot at the end of the bird garden. Grab the bird cage with bird food and carefully lead the bird to the plant, hooking the two cages to the various posts. Don't get too close to the bird or you will startle it and it will fly back to the beginning of the area.

  • Grow the Oscilette

    ​​​​Chapter 5

    To grow Oscilette: Fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and you don't have to water it. Place the pot next to the phonograph in the boathouse. Grab the record that lists 120 BPM on the case and use the phonograph to play it.

  • Grow the Fool's Emerald

    ​​​​Chapter 5

    To grow Fool's Emerald: Grab the handle near the pond and put it back in the grotto to fill it with water. Fill the pot with soil, add the seed, and water it. Place the pot in the cave across the pool you created. Grab the telegraph from under the boathouse and place it in the cave. Now put in the following Morse Code:

  • Find a way to cross the pond

    Chapter 5

    Across from the pond is a handle next to the broken lawn mower. Grab it and use it on the pedestal up the staircase. This will fill the grotto with water and lily pads which you can walk across into a small cave.

  • Reach the end of the game

    The game is split into five chapters with an epilogue. This will unlock after completing all chapters. You can press continue from the main menu after finishing the game to return to the manor for any backtracking.

  • Complete all the plants in the Herbarium

    You need to complete all of the plants to finish the story anyway; however, refer to the various plant solutions and linked video in Windmill Wort (30G) for all of the plant clues and growing puzzle solutions.
  • Take a picture of a flower that's not the Fulguria

    Chapter 2

    The camera is found in the family room and used to grow the Fulguria (Fulguria (30G)). But, you need to instead take any other fully grown plant and place it on the plate in front of the camera. Fill the flask in the previous room with two splashes Potassium and one splash Magnesium. Use this combination on the camera. Close it and take the picture.

Secret achievements

  • Flush the toilet

    Chapter 4

    The bathroom is connected to the Master Bedroom on the second floor, accessible after growing the Sapphire Gloom. Simply enter and pull the chain on the toilet to flush it.

  • Connect all the pipes

    Chapter 4

    This is required to grow the Brook Chalice (Brook Chalice (30G)) . The bathroom is connected to the Master Bedroom on the second floor, accessible after growing the Sapphire Gloom. In the bathroom is a broken pipe system with red pipe pieces scattered around. Use the pieces to reconnect the pipes.

    Create a faulty mix of chemicals in the flash lamp

    Chapter 2

    Before the family room is a flask with a set of chemicals. The correct combination is two splashes of Potassium and one splash of Magnesium. Instead make any other combination, then load it into the camera in the family room. Close it and try to take a picture.

  • Find the secret priest hideout

  • Unlock Grandma's vault

    Chapter 4

    Enter the Library and interact with the plates on the shelf to the left. press them in this order to reveal Grandma's secret room:

  • Open the letter lock

    Chapter 4

    To enter the upstairs area, you need to solve the letter lock on the door to the study and library. The combination is:

  • Fix the Orangery staircase

    Chapter 3

    Enter the kitchen pantry and use the weights to solve a code. The code is 1593. Then enter the hidden passage that opens to unlock History Sleuth (20G).

    Head through the secret passage and on the other side you will enter the downstairs section of the Orangery. Interact with the wooden planks next to the broken staircase to fix it.

  • Throw a flower in the bin

    Connected to any of the potting stations is a compost bin. Simply fully grow any plant (Windmill Wort is the easiest) then throw the fully grown plant in the compost bin.

  • Go to the top of the tower

    Chapter 3

    Enter the old tower in the orchard and ride the elevator up to the fifth floor.

    Simply interact with any of the locked doors in/around the manor before getting the key for the door. You will shake the locked door and unlock this.

  • Inspect all the ducks

    Ducks are the collectibles of the game. There are five to find in total and you can backtrack from the end of the game if you missed any. All locations are included at the end of the video linked in Windmill Wort (30G). For collecting your first one you will also unlock Quack Quack (20G).

    Chapter 5

  • Place a plant on every saucer in the Flower Room

    After growing each plant in the game, simply walk them back to the front of the manor and place them on a plate in the flower room before the front door. There are 12 plates in total and, if you want, you can put multiples of the same plant in the room for this achievement.

  • Sit on a garden bench for one minute or more

    Chapter 1 - Earliest Location

    After growing the Windmill Wort, exit the building and immediately turn right to find a bench. Sit on it and wait for a minute to unlock this! This also works with any other interactable bench or chair you find in the game.

  • Grow the same plant three times or more

    Chapter 1
