Introduction:
Welcome to Little Kitty, Big City, an open world adventure game where you play as a curious little kitty with a big personality who gets accidentally knocked down from their highrise home and lands in the city streets. Your goal is to get back home, but this will require making some new animal friends, wear delightful hats, a bunch of exploring, and learning some new abilities as well as leaving more than a little chaos in your wake. This is a very casual game, with no enemies and no way to die or fail. Achievements are pretty simple, with most being miscellaneous tasks, some of which are cumulative, and only one being progress-related. Let's get started.
Abbreviated Walkthrough:
There isn't a whole lot to explain for this game, but basically your first order of business is to progress and beat the story. It might sound odd, but there are two reasons to do this:
- Progressing the story will get you all "abilities" such as maximum climbing energy, which makes exploration and mop-up way faster and easier than trying to do it as you go
- Beating the game marks missed collectibles on your map, again making mop-up faster and easier
- Head to the northwest corner of the map to the waterfront where there's a guy fishing. Wait for him to catch a fish. It'll drop on the ground. Eat it before he picks it up and stashes it
- Head to the south central part of the map and there's a decent sized convenience store there (not to be confused with grandma's market in the center of the map). You'll need to drag the fan out of the way so you can get to the fish to eat it
- Toward the center of the map are buildings you can now easily climb, and on top of one is a woman watering her garden. Get to that roof, and while facing her, climb over the right side fence and turn off her water. When she opens the door to turn it on, run out and into her window to find the last fish
Mop-Up:
Now is the time to mop up all achievements you're missing, which will entail completing a bunch of quests for various animals, and doing a bunch of (cumulative) miscellaneous achievements. This will most likely include collecting any missed hats (Capped Crusader (25G)), investigating 10 trash cans (Dumpster Diving (25G)), and completing any missed objectives (Neighborhood Hero (25G)). Refer to the guide below for where to quickly and easily mop up everything you're missing, and that'll wrap up this completion.
Conclusion:
Little Kitty, Big City is a fun adventure that allows youto tackle the various objectives and collectibles in just about any order you feel like. Despite the jumping and platforming being a little awkward, this was a pretty fun little game. Nothing hugely special or mind blowing, but a relaxing little adventure game that doesn't wear out its welcome or require anything too tedious. It's exactly what it advertises: a charming little cat game. The achievements require a decent amount, but nothing takes too long or is difficult at all. The openness of the ending, allowing you to return to the game world, makes this a much easier completion! Hopefully you enjoyed your time as a kitty; congratulations!
