Introduction:
Welcome to The Raven Remastered, a remastering of the Xbox 360 episodic game The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief. If you haven't played the original, this game is very similar to an Agatha Christie murder mystery, and plays very similar to some of the recent Hercule Poirot releases. It's a point and click game with a very whodunit vibe that'll leave you guessing throughout and trying to figure out who the culprit is. As far as point-and-click games go, this one is much easier/simpler than others because if you interact with everything and talk to everyone, you'll be able to progress. There aren't any complicated or convoluted puzzles to solve with abstract point and click logic. That being said, there are plenty of missables, so no one would blame you for using a guide and/or a walkthrough. Let's get started.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
Right off the bat, there's going to be the question of missable achievements, and following a walkthrough/guide to ensure you don't miss anything. Regardless of whether you're using a walkthrough or not, there are two overarching missable achievements you'll need to be aware of:

  • Each episode has an achievement for completing it with virtually no help, which means not using button-x.png to reveal hotspots at all. Avoid it for your entire playthrough
  • There is an overarching achievement for unlocking all bonus material. Bonus material is unlocked at various point thresholds in each episode, and points are received for completing various actions. Most of these actions are story related, but some are miscellaneous, which are covered by their own achievements
If you prefer to follow a walkthrough, I don't blame you, since replaying a point and click game for achievements would be pretty tedious. I have two options for you. The first is a text walkthrough courtesy of MaGtRo, located HERE. The second option, for those that prefer it, is a collection of video guides courtesy of Baddriver, located HERE.

If you prefer to play for enjoyment and want to experience the story, trying to solve it for yourself, know that this game is relatively easy and straightforward compared to other point and click games. The puzzles are logical rather than abstract and ridiculous, and in general as long as you interact with everything and talk to everyone you will be able to progress without being stuck. To those who want to work through the game themselves, here is a list of missable achievements in the order they can be obtained, separated by episode.

Episode 1
Music Lover (15G)
Humble Helper (30G)
Accurate Detective (85G)
Firebug (15G)
Crime Scene Investigator (30G)

Episode 2
History Fan (30G)
Snooper (30G)
Good Boy (15G)

Episode 3
Know-it-all (30G)
Animal Lover (15G)

The guide below avoids spoilers in all of the story achievement solutions, so refer to either walkthrough linked above if you need guidance for any episode. For missable achievements, I've explained how to get each, so don't be surprised if there is a minor spoiler here and there in those.

Conclusion:
Despite some seriously wonky walking, this game is a really solid detective game, with an interesting story, a plot that's fun to follow, and some enjoyable dialogue. The main character does feel like a serious rip-off of Hercule Poirot for most of the game, but that makes it easier to relate to and enjoy, in my opinion. The gameplay and missable achievements are all easy enough, with nothing requiring skill or anything timed, making this a game easy to enjoy for its story rather than being bogged down by missables. Congrats on the completion!

    Episode 1 - First section

For this achievement, you'll need to first knock on the Baroness' door (the "second" one in the car between where you start and the saloon car) and talk to her to find out her purse is missing. Now you can head to the saloon car and take a toothpick from the table on the right, next to the two women sitting together. Return to the car you started in and open the window on the left. The violinist will ask you to close it. Use your toothpick on the window to prop it open. When the violinist goes to close it, interact with his violin case and grab the purse inside. Inspect the purse in your inventory and then return it to the Baroness to unlock this achievement.

Secret achievements

  • Analyze the fingerprints on the window.

    *MISSABLE*

    Episode 1 - First section

Your investigation on the train car will eventually take you into the Professor's cabin, next to the Baroness'. Before going in, you'll want to head to the saloon car and go behind the bar. Examine the notepad to get a pencil. Examine the scissors and then use the pencil in your inventory on the scissors to get graphite powder. That's everything you need for this achievement. When you get into the Professor's cabin (which will happen with the pliers you get from the toolbox outside the saloon car), examine the window, then use the graphite powder in your inventory with the window. Examine the window one more time to unlock this achievement.
  • Switch on the radio.

    *MISSABLE*

    Episode 1 - First section

At any point during this first section on the train, go to the saloon car and go behind the bar. Simply interact with the radio on the right to turn it on and unlock this achievement.
  • Light more than 4 matches.

    *MISSABLE*

Episode 1 - Second section (dark train)

During this section, you'll automatically talk to the doctor, who will give you matches. You have an unlimited amount, but for this achievement you need to use at least five. You can't use one while you already have one lit, but you can interact with the windows on either side of the train to drop your match, allowing you to light a new one. There are also a few story related actions you need to do that will result in you dropping your match, allowing you to light a new one. Basically, before proceeding with uncoupling the train cars outside, make sure you light five matches to unlock this achievement.
  • Examine all objects in the baroness' cabin.

    *MISSABLE*

Episode 1 - Fifth section (on the ship after the murder has happened)

Toward the end of the episode you will go into the Baroness' cabin on the ship to investigate the murder that took place there. For this achievement, you need to do as the description says and interact with all hotspots inside her cabin. They are:

    • The porthole
    • The luggage
    • The handbag
    • The diary
    • The bed
    • The mannequin
    • The painting
    • The vase, and the feathers that fall out of it
    • The cupboard, and the tape recorder inside of it, and the audiotape reel
    • The blood stain on the bed
    • The notepad
    • The portable cupboard
    • The alarm
    • The cover (up above the door)
    • The lock (on the door)
  • Examine all exhibits in the museum.

    *MISSABLE*

Episode 2 - Second section (at the museum)

At any time during this section, you need to interact with all exhibits in the main part of the museum (all of which are off to the left in the corner). They are all in the "main hall" section in the upper left corner and on the left side. They are:

    • The display case in the back upper right corner of the upper left area
    • The daggers toward the middle
    • The display case with the desert glass
    • The Imhotep statue in the top left
    • The Akhenaten statue in the top left
  • Correctly guess the villains identity.

    *MISSABLE*

Episode 2 - Second section (at the museum)

At the very end of this museum section while playing as Zellner, a shadowy figure will step out from behind you and you need to correctly pick which person the villain is during the dialogue option. Pick 'Mr Alfred Inch' to correctly guess and unlock this achievement.
  • Serve coffee to the doctor.

    *MISSABLE*

Episode 2 - Third section (playing as Adil on the train)

Once you proceed enough to climb down into the train as Adil, head behind the bar in the saloon car. Interact with the coffee cup, then interact with the coffee machine. Interact with the coffee machine again to use it with the coffee cup to pour some coffee. This will automatically trigger you delivering it to the doctor and unlock this achievement.
  • Find out all four animal symbols.

    *MISSABLE*

Episode 3 - First section (playing as Patricia on the boat)

The story will eventually task you with discovering the four animals that form the combination to the Baroness' secret compartment. To progress the story you only need to discover three of the four animals, but for this achievement you need all four. They are found as follows:

    • Downstairs in the boat by the doors to the Medical Center and Lestrand's Cabin are some magazines on a table. Interact with them to learn about the Berlin bear
    • In the saloon part of the boat (where the bar is), the captain is sitting at the bar. Talk to him and go through his dialogue options to learn about the Lion pope
    • Inside your cabin (opposite the Baroness') talk to Adil in the bathroom to learn about another bear
    • Examine the poster next to the doctor, at the top of the stairs near the doors to your cabin and the Baroness
  • Play with the dog three times.

    *MISSABLE*

Episode 3 - Third section (playing as Adil at the museum)

The story will require you to get a tennis ball and use it with the dog at the front door to the museum to sneak in. Before you do anything with the story to progress, use the tennis ball in your inventory with the dog to play fetch with him. Do this two more times to unlock this achievement.
