Usually, 2 fighters - pit against each other - will duke it out in a limited arena of sorts until one of them is victorious. Fighting games are a battle of not just technical ability, but also mental fortitude. It’s just you and your opponent, on an even battlefield (whether that’s with multiple fighters in a tag system or a straight up 1-on-1) with nothing but your character and his strengths and weaknesses to contend with. Since Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat launched in the 80s and 90s respectively, the fighting game genre has been one of the purest forms of competitive gaming that exists, and here’s the very best fighting experiences that Xbox has to offer.
