The card and board genre is perhaps one of the oldest genres in not just video games, but in everything. We’re talking the obvious here: game that involve cards and/or boards. This includes, but is not limited to, things like Monopoly, Uno, chess, backgammon, and so on. It’s a list that goes on and on though, and are usually digitised versions of games that existed beforehand. Yes, things like poker, mahjong, solitaire, checkers are all also included here. The digitised versions afford many advantages over their physical counterparts, such as the ability to play against an AI, the quick turnaround between games, and perhaps more importantly, the ability to play with people across the internet.
