Dogcatcher Achievement in Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Promethean Crawlers are the third and final advanced Forerunner A.I. that will only appear in Halo 4. These enemies play a similar role to that of Covenant Grunts; however do not underestimate their ability in battle. Their advanced agility and swarming tactics demonstrate just how menacing they truly are when fighting a pack in close-quarters combat.

Crawlers are usually armed with Boltshots, however the stronger variants will often time carry Suppressors and even Binary Rifles. Crawlers enjoy attacking in swarms and even retreating, as a means of luring players into more dangerous combat. Given these harassment tactics, it’s best to face off against Crawlers from afar, picking them off with simple headshots.

A perfect opportunity to grind out Crawler kills would be during the final mission of the Campaign, Midnight. From the Campaign lobby, go ahead and load up Rally Point Bravo on the aforementioned mission. Continue through the mission normally until you reach the small armory that houses the Gravity Hammer and other UNSC and Promethean weaponry. Here, grab whatever weapon you'd like, perhaps a Scattershot and the Gravity Hammer and proceed through the portal.

When you emerge inside another room, there will be five Knights, as well as six to eight Crawlers. Because the game gives you a checkpoint inside the armory, you can kill all the enemies in this room and then restart the checkpoint to continue the grind. Remember, these Promethean enemies only appear in Halo 4. Once you have killed a total of 1,000 Crawlers, this achievement will unlock.
