Were It So Easy Achievement in Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Elites are one of the most intelligent and combat-skilled species within the Covenant. Often regarded as pack-leaders, these enemies are usually found roaming around with a group of three to five Grunts, or among their own brethren in groups of two or three.

Unlike most Covenant enemies, Elites are no simple threat to eliminate. They generally wield Plasma Rifles, Carbines, Energy Swords and Fuel Rod Cannons and they also have shields, much like the Master Chief. All of this makes combat with Elites more diverse than ever. You’ll need to expend a significant amount of well-placed shots to strip their shields before they finally topple over to their death. As a general note, firing an overcharge Plasma Pistol shot at an Elite will strip their shields, thus leaving them vulnerable for a quick headshot from a Magnum, Battle Rifle, Covenant Carbine, or DMR.

Elites appear in nearly every level of each Campaign, with the exception of Halo 3; in this Campaign, Elites have allied with the Humans, which means they will not be a present threat in battle. Once you have killed a total of 1,000 Elites, this achievement will unlock.
