Gruntageddon Achievement in Halo: The Master Chief Collection

As the lowest ranking species in the Covenant, these enemies are often treated as cannon fodder and will be encountered in small groups of three or five, often led by a single Elite.

Given their pack-like nature, these Grunts will only pose a significant threat when they are confronted in large groups. They generally wield Plasma Pistols and Needlers – two of the weaker Covenant weapons – though some high-ranked Grunts will often carry Fuel Rod Cannons as well. They are the most common enemy found within the game and will appear in nearly every single level of each Campaign. Once you have killed a total of 1,000 Grunts, this achievement will unlock.
