  • How to unlock Flipyap

    This Easter Egg can be found on nearly any mission of the game, so long as the prerequisites are in place.

    Flipyap is a Covenant Grunt that is often times mentioned in a long line of dialogue by a Grunt when another Grunt nearby has been killed. In order to trigger this line of dialogue however, the IWHBYD skull must be activated when playing a Campaign mission.

    Generally, there is no one spot to trigger this unique dialogue, so just tackle missions at your own pace on any difficulty and keep Grunts alive at times to increase the chances they recount the humorous tale of Flipyap. Once the story of Flipyap has begun, the achievement will unlock.

    Turn on the IWHBYD skull and start killing grunts. Occasionally, when this happens, another grunt will give you a speech about how you killed "Flipyap", unlocking the achievement.

    Does anybody know exactly what dialogue you need the grunt to say for the achievement to pop? I've got them to say the one about the nipple academy 3 times (twice on normal and once on legendary) and it still hasn't unlocked.

    I started to hear the dialogue this morning on "The Covenant" on Easy as I was clearing Grunts before hitting the first elevator. However, I killed the Grunt without realizing who I was killing. The achievement didn't pop for me. I don't know if I negated the unlock because I killed the Grunt who was talking. I did have the IWHBYD skull on.

    @3 I think this achievement is glitched along with so many others. It won't unlock even after I've gotten the dialogue to play several times.

    I think you have to play on legendary to get this achievement. I watched someone get it on "The Covenant" level while also playing on legendary.

    I got it on easy on The Storm. I just got really close to the first scarab.

    This achievement is most certainly glitched. I've listened to the dialog roughly 20 times now. Across all difficulties, playlists, solo, co-op, with/without skulls. It just will not unlock.

    I played Sierra 117 on Easy, CHARLIE rally point. Killed 1 grunt and immediately heart the FLIPYAP dialogue. But it didn't pop. :(

    As #9 i loaded this level and checkpoint. Achievement may be bugged still as it unlocked on the dialog “ you killed yapyap ” and not the stated grunt dialog.
