  • How to unlock Life Story

    As a means of experiencing Master Chief's epic journey from The Pillar of Autumn in Halo: Combat Evolved and all the way to the tragic events of Midnight in Halo 4, the Master Chief Saga playlist compiles all forty-five Campaign missions on the Normal difficulty. As such, this means the aforementioned playlist will net an entire playthrough of each Campaign, allowing you time to grab any collectibles, Easter Eggs, and even non-difficulty-tied mission-specific achievements that you have not already obtained in prior playthroughs.

    Like any playlist, this does not need be completed in one sitting. Rather, the game will save your progress in the standard fashion after each checkpoint or completed mission, meaning you can return to this playlist in the Main Menu at any time. Also, because the difficulty is automatically set to Normal, there shouldn't be any issues in completing this playlist with ease, be it on your own or with a cooperative partner. Once the entire playlist has been completed, from beginning to end, the achievement will finally unlock.

    Please tell me it's possible to take some breaks and resume the playlist and still get the achievement... :) My plan was to do it one game at a time, with a couple hours in between each, possibly spread across 2 days.

    @3 Yes, you can resume the playlist and come back to it. I was in the middle of the Master Chief Saga playlist when my controller was acting up so I hard reset my Xbox One and sure enough it said "Resume" on the mission I was in the middle of. I would be cautious if for whatever reason you decide to run through a separate campaign mission or anything so it doesn't "override" your playlist progress, but if you wanted to do multiplayer it would probably be fine.

    Does it have to be IN the playlist ? I mean, I directly started Legendary CE from the campaign tab, so I guess to get this achievement I must start CE from the playlist tab? Well I guess I'll redo it in normal afterwards then.

    My playlist skipped the level 343 Guilty Spark, & instead went straight to the Library. I decided to play the campaigns outside the playlist, so I don't accidentally miss anything. At least until the bugs are fixed.

    I been doing this on CO-Op offline and Player Two has gotten any of the achievements for completing the levels but Player One has. Anyone else had this problem? Also cause of crashing one level reset to the beginning and said it over written the save data for that level (not the whole campaign). Anyone else have similar problems?

    Got resetted from Halo 2's "The Armory" to Halo CE's "Halo". Fuck. How come some of the players have this achievement? Is there a 100% secure way to avoid the reset? Does it happen only when you have quit the game and your trying to resume? I'm willing to have me Xbox on and the game paused for days if that'll work.

    Ugh, I've made it all the way through this playlist up to the end of Reclaimer in Halo 4, and now every time I try to resume, it crashes. There is no way I'm starting that over again, considering you need four complete playthroughs of all campaigns... as much as I enjoy the Halo games, I'm not looking for a fifth. Anyone have any suggestions? I've tried every troubleshooting technique on Xbox's website short of deleting all of my save game data.
